    What is everyones opinion on...

Infinite Sprint. I know that one of the most frustrating things in BF2 was having to walk half way across the map because some idiot decided he couldnt fly the helicopter. Im just curious to know everyones viewpoint on this because some people consider infinite sprint to be lame however personally it really doesnt bother me.

I would rather have my "marine" run constantly for a 10 minute game rather than stop every 15 metres because he is out of breath.

It may not be realistic, but neither way going out of breath after running for 60 seconds. Also I think it was done to balance out the ground vehicles being faster then from BF2. In BC2 the top speed of even tanks is pretty high, so infinite sprint is needed to actually get away from armour, never mind that cover is destroyable. I usually don't even end up running for that long a period of time unless it is to run into a fight that is far away, or to get out of a tough situation. For actual combat you run and stop constantly anyways.

As long as it comes with an aiming penalty. I don't want this to turn into COD.

yeah... Show me a Marine who'll slow down to catch his breath after "sprinting" for 50 yards...

On the other hand you don't only wait 5 sec to regain your breath and aim perfectly, especially after running 10 minutes straight and being wounded.

I personnaly would like to see a modified version of the limited sprint of BF2 : a normal running speed which don't consume stamina and a sprint, but the sprint shouldn't consume stamina so quickly.

I will accept whatever system fits with the game, the sprint in BC2 seems fine cos you don't have dumb stuff like sprint strafe and you cannot fire your weapons etc, when it comes down to gameplay you need the inf sprint for getting around but you won't be sprinting around an engagement area constantly

Not sure... because infinite sprint can get obnoxious. IE. wookies running around constantly insta knfiing and using semi auto shotguns (I do it a lot haha).

                This.

There are cons to sprinting and Battlefield doesnt have laser fire accuracy with weapons anyway. The 60 second sprint just doesnt seem right for soldiers who run more in a single morning than most of is in two weeks.

Im hoping that because its on the frostbite engine that we will see the same sprint capabilities that we see in BC2.

I'd rather keep the infinite sprint than go back to running out of breath every 60 seconds. Considering you're never actually running that far of a distance (it's not like you're going to cover 10 miles in a map or something ridiculous like that) nor really running at a full out sprint, I don't feel like it's really "infinite."

Perhaps if they put a sprint cap at around 200 seconds or something like that, I wouldn't mind though, but it was just too short in 2142.

It was even shorter in BF2. Remember what it was like in 2142 before you unlocked the two sprint upgrades? That's kind of what it was like running as an armoured soldier in BF2. Medics, in addition to all their other benefits, got a longer sprint than support, AT, and assault. While I can kind of understand AT and support because they're both carrying massive amounts of weaponry either in the form of AT missiles or big bags of ammunition, it always bothered me that assault had a short sprint since all they had was a gun and body armour.

But anyway, infinite sprint is one of the few things I wouldn't mind seeing from BC2. At the very least a longer sprint bar than was present in BF2.

                        Good point Wolf,

Would it make a difference in what people think if the sprint was longer, but not infinity, and based on what class you selected or weapon?

So, for example, Medic is the fastest sprinter out of the four classes. If you chose a higher capacity weapon or armor (vs magnum ammo) you go slower. Default medic or other weapons are faster than a default medic with more ammo and armor.

2142 had that where if you selected armor (which was default I believe) then your sprint dropped.

Would that change anyones mind or infinite sprint still?

It's like slow regenerating health, it's just a matter of preference but it's only some minors gameplay points. I prefer modified versions for both (regenerate up to 25% and longer but not infinite sprint) but in the end if they keep the BC2 system I wouldn't really be shocked or anything.

I'd be fine with such a system. LMGs are big and heavy so that should lower sprint, whereas carbines and SMGs are lighter so they wouldn't suffer as great a penalty. In any case, though, the sprint overall should be better than in BF2 (even the lightly-armoured classes tired out far too quickly).

You know, regenerating health and infinite sprint were things that I thought I was going to hate at first, but it works out pretty nicely anyway. Health regenerating is too slow to make an impact during firefights and only really helps you along a bit on the way until you get to a medic. Infinite sprint keeps the game fast paced and fun. BF3 should be skillful and have a lot of depth, but none of these remove any of it really.
