Re: Mod tools not looking so good.

Redfield returns, I could cry with joy

    haha :p

this will cheer us all up

Im not really sure where the angry is, there are times when I can understand developer decisions, then there are other times where it is obvious that they are doing something **** because of certain factors (consoles etc)

modding tools, I have to admit, it annoys me when people think the world is ending because they don't exist, but at the same time I feel for the potential they had, modded games can be some of the best experiences ever, Empire Total War as a random example, when modded it far surpassed the vanilla game

we got Desert Combat the same way, and that led to BF2

I would like to see some statistics showing that modders and mod-user are anything but a tiny minority?
There were a couple of mods I enjoyed, but lets face it: The good mods didn't come out before the game was, what, a year old?
I doubt they influenced the sale much.

BF2 is half a decade old now. If the modders had focused a bit they could have had their own open-source engine by now.

Oh great, thats what I need to brighten up my day... a cat that looks like an evil wizard who kills people. Not only that all the captions were "he's all alone! Just look at him! No one wants him... he stares at bars all day!"

                      Counter Strike.

And hundreds (if not thousands) of people have bought BF2 for PR alone. A LOT of people came to BF2 for its mods alone. Youre downplaying the number because you never liked any of them? Or just to justify developers decisions with some "rational" arguments about how everyone needs to do what they need to do for a buck or two.

Point is, you can make a great game with some longetivity and learning curve. Not releasing mod tools because of ******** excuses seems a lot like DICE´s comments on why the jets hitboxes couldnt have been fixed.

Am I the only one here who remembers what TBF2 was like?

That's not a statistic, nor is it verifiable for someone like me who never played BF2 and wasn't apart of the community.

I sure do! The douchebaggery was incredible. Insults flying and people being shouted down on basic questions. Oh man, remember the Sir. vs WM Security?

Fortunatly you could pick out who was actually helpful and get things from them directly or search the posts.
