this idea is great, BF2 + CoD4 Graphics when isnt this an amazing indea. and the guy who said its crysis, it isnt.

the next BF need to get back to good times like BF2 not worrie about single player and make the game look amazing like CoD4. sorted!

BF3 should be (imo)

BF2 weapons, vehicles and maps
BF2142 improved ground to air balance, weapon accuracy etc
Crysis graphics (Frostbite looks promising)

Then you steal a few snippets from other games and you have the greatest game ever.

Crysis graphics?... no, we don't need another game we have to wait 1-3 years for the technology to play.. Slightly improved CoD4 style graphics would be suffice with this sort of game.

Not at all. Far cry 2 has nothing compared to BF2. Are there squads and commanders in FC2? 32vs32? Weapon classes? ammo/medic bags? Commo rose (which is actually a big thing. It helps quite a bit). In-game voice chat as good as BF2's? Does it have as many vehicles, and weapons as BF2? Aircraft, to me, is a big part of BF2 and a reason why I love it so much since almost no other game has implemented it better than BF2. I can think of more reasons but I just woke up so I'm still tired

I'm not saying FC2 is going to be bad, but it won't be able to be compared to BF2. I'd say the only other game that could be compared to it would be Frontlines: Fuel of war, but even that game is far off from BF2.

Yea I have to agree really, it was just the being able to revive people that sparked that train of thought. I'm just praying that the multiplayer wont let Far Cry 2 down and be another Stalker :/

Yeah thats why so many people are playing it...

I agree COD4 is a much smaller game, as in play area. Therefore its more deathmatch. But its physics and netcode, and the feel of how the infantry combat plays, are why people like it. People love the weapons and bullet penetration in COD4, the weapons feel realistically powerful. And the overall pace, you dont feel like you have bricks on your feet. Plus gameplay in COD4 depends heavily on which gamemode you're playing.

But most importantly the netcode is awesome, no delay, no huge leading targets, no shots passing through stuff. :yay:

I own the game, it truly sucks IMO. Put 25 people 15-20 people in an area the size of my backyard and expect us to have an enjoyable time spawning and dying every 10 seconds. I call my buddy up who loves the game and I log on to play with him and he has this great time and I can't play for more then 15 minutes without getting bored out of my mind.

And people complain about netcode. 95% of the time everything works fine in bf2. I've had just as much lag and annoyance in cod4 both on console and ps3. I'm not trying to hate on COD4. I just personally can't stand the game. I've tried over and over. My good friend since I was 13 (im 29 now) loves the game and I've virtually tried 15 times to play withhim on line just as a way to keep in touch and I just can't get into the game one bit.

I guess I'm just used to the more tactical open areas of bf2 whereas cod4 is more twitch play where you just run around almost mindlessly killing stuff.

On a side note: COD4 singleplayer was pretty awesome.

There's no such rig that will play Crysis seamlessly with high settings.. Certainly not one for $1200 XD If BF3 comes out with graphics like that the server lobby will be empty just like crysis..

I'm suspecting BF3 won't be as demanding as Crysis though... BF has a big fanbase that DICE/EA wouldn't want to lose just because of pretty graphics, and Frostbite runs great on a PS3 that is significantly worse than an average gaming PC today.

There were very few computers that could play BF2 on high at good resolutions when it came out. Thousands of people played it on low/medium settings, and I think you'll find quite a few still do today.

I want BF3 to have the best graphics it can, I don't care if I have to play on lower settings. I want the game to last a long time, like BF2 has. I don't want a game that looks old and outdated a year or two after it's released.

yea but PS3 doesn't run 64man servers. that's what it all comes down to for PC BF games. its the main reason why a game might not run that great.

Try Search and Destroy gamemode GunHappyBob. It plays much like CS, once you're dead you're out for the rest of the round. This mode has the least amount of mindless fragging in it. And the most teamwork.

That said, most agree on what you said there. The maps are small and can be intense on instant respawn servers playing deathmatch. But the smoothness and feel of the infantry makes up for it. Plus there are the slower modes, so its not that bad.

I personally like it when all the players are cramped together, makes for more realistic combat. Huge maps with lower player numbers just gets you lots of lone wolves playing stalker.

edit: You cant judge netcode when you're playing on a console... The multiplayer aspects of these games are really made to be played on a PC for full enjoyment.
