You may see more camping in HC (although I think some of it is players holding a position longer than normal to see if there's anyone out there (also camped) watching for them to move), but there's still a ton of it in SC as well.

The game itself encourages camping because of the way it's designed (powerful, accurate weapons, and due to the camo of the uniforms and how they blend into the background, detecting movement is a key element to this game. When you're camped, it's easy to watch for movement and fire on it).

Annoying, and unfortunate, IMO. I agree games are much better when players are moving (even slowly, carefully) around.

Imo Hc encourages camping, and I like my games to be nice and flowing. (everyone moving)

HC is a trade-off. You kill people faster, but you get killed faster. I think it would be a bit more fun, and overall more "balanced", if weapons such as the G3, RPD, etc. were tweaked - because as of right now a player can just spam the weapon in hopes of getting that single, deadly bullet on target.
I'm starting to like the increased damage (because I'm a sniper) but it does get quite annoying to be killed by the bloke who thinks he's a hotshot because he can RPD you across the map.

I disagree, on SC you always know that even if they shoot first you can still win. That is simply not the case in HC. On SC you know that you can make that piece of cover etc. so most are not always wired to shoot at each corner. Seriously on some HC servers you pretty much have to hold down the fire button before you turn to get the kills. Not needed in SC, but on a large server it doesnt matter, hence my point.

You're right. If the other player is unable to keep their sights on you for more than one or two shots, then yes, you can make it to that cover nearby or turn and fight (and possibly win). With hardcore, it is who can get the first accurate shot off because it takes so few to down somebody.

hardcore is not that much of a skill drop, smaller hardcore servers you wont dominate on as a SC player since imo your not always 'ready to fire before you turn the corner' like you need to in HC since there is no room for any slowness.

On a large HC server though you will dominate coming from SC since you will naturally use more fire power against an enemy then a HC player meaning you kill all the last standers which in my experience makes up 90% of the HC population.

Not really. You are forgetting the values softcore players play on to be at the top of the leaderboard in SC. They are always ready to fire when they turn the corner, surprisingly it still matters who gets the first shot off (getting hit will mess your aim up). They will dominate in either large or small, It all depends on how well people adapt to different situations.

I play HC sometimes because it helps my twitch skills a bit - it forces me to be faster when I'm sniping, so it's good practice. I still prefer SC because of the balance though.

voted softcore because of stupid semi-auto snipers, they just hold down trigger in hardcore and hope one hits. no skill involved in it. i also like pub pam mod servers but they are few and far between.

I tend to play HC more these days, I find it easier to get the precious head shots I seek to get the weapon camouflages.

I will sometimes head back to a SC server and dominate a couple rounds. I found playing HC made me react faster and kill more than the other players in SC, but then sometimes it seems like my guns collectively plot against me and decide not to kill anyone. >_<

I prefer softcore for the balance and for matching, but hardcore is a nice change - and I like playing TWL hardcore because you get to use perks that you normally wouldn't in CAL/FGL/etc.
