The game is balanced around Softcore, so naturally that is the mode I play it in. With HC, all weapon, perk and attachment balance goes out of the window. I play it from time but because of the balance, it just doesn't feel right.

The realism card doesn't go either because while it takes fewer bullets to kill people, I can effectively snipe people with pistols. Not realistic.

Also, everyone I've known from SC tops the HC lists (even I who play HC seldom am usually on top), yet the guys I know who play mostly HC usually are on the bottom in SC. Speaks for itself.

I prefer and only play Softcore when I am pubbing, and when I am matching, of course using PAM. Hardcore is unbalanced in my opinion as well. A pistol can kill just as good as any other weapon; 1 shot. Realistic... I guess so but at the same time not so much. You don't see people sink a bullet from a pistol in the real world from acrossed the map oh so perfectly, but you can do that in Hardcore. Gets a bit unfair, boring, and..don't take this the wrong way...but a lack of talent. I say that because a lot of people in my clan who can "Own Up" in Hardcore can't move from the bottom of the list in Softcore. But people who "Own Up" in Softcore, I see right at the top of the list in Hardcore and then some.

So, thats why I steer clear, a few clansmen of mine have proven to me that Hardcore doesn't teach you anything about teamwork or how to aim.

**Please don't take this like I am bashing HC players. It's a gametype that many are interested in, just as a leader who is in Competitive Play, I don't see HC as a useful gametype**

I agree with this 100%. This is why my clan will only play SC.

Leave it to a hardcore player to insult the other group.

There are just as many SC players who insult HC players, and again, most of these SC vs HC threads are started by SC players.

It's too easy to generalize either group, just like those who only play a few games on either mode and generalize all servers of that type.

IMO this so called Softcore should be hardcore being that it takes a half of clip with some weapons to kill someone

i play only hardcore.

i choose not to play softcore being that it takes for ever to kill someone and i find hardcore more fun and exciting.

its all preference. if you like softcore then by all means play it.

now what i ****EN HATE is old school. i dont like that you have to re-earn your rank in these servers.

...Even the full magazine so many of the hardcore players whine about needing to kill one person is very over exaggerated, four rounds max from an assault rifle are needed to kill somebody (excluding the bugged AK47 with reflex sight and suppressor). Even the weapon that does the least possible damage per round (pistol) can down somebody (without juggernaut) with five shots maximum if you do not hit the the head modifier (there are no other modifiers for the pistol, pistol head modifier is 1.4x)...

Maybe because he has Juggernaut? With most of the weapons you can two shot anybody, except for the SMGs.

Yes, truly realistic that some dude will take a 5.56 to the chest, but *I'm* the one who's going to DIE by way of a shot to the foot. I've never forgiven HC for this glaring stupidity, and I don't intend to do so now either. It would've been more realistic to diminish the player's accuracy and/or mobility for limb shots, but hey... what the f*ck do I know, right?

i prefer HC because i like the clean screen without the HUD, but i will play SC occanionly just to keep things fresh

If there's something I like about HC it's the lack of a HUD :nod:
