Bring a metal gear solid 3 aspect into the game, where you have to treat your wounds one by one or your boned. either way cod 4 & BF2 aint got the reality factor everyone so desperately needs.

What about health and ammo stations in SD, HQ, and other objective based gamemodes. Self-healing just feels off to me.
But I`m used to older games where you didn`t get healed at all or had health laying around here and there.
Plus, health packs/stations/whatever would add another strategic aspect to the game- who or which team0 controls em. Works well in UT, Quake. I`m sure it would work in CoD. The maps are too small though so maybe when the tools come out and we start getting some large, UO kinda maps, sh!t like this can be done.Comment

How is it better than getting a medic to heal you or using a field dressing to stop the bleeding? And im not talking about healing Bf2 style where you step on a med pack and get health restored to 100% in an instant
Wtf does that have to do with anything?Comment

Because COD4 is a much faster game, and thank GOD there are no classes that limit the gameplay. The game abides by a whole different set of rules and as such, the concept of "medpacks" and "medics" does not fit into it. If you think COD4 is "retarded" because of autohealing, you should first actually play the game (which you havent) and see how the firefight dynamics play out.
And since the game is much faster, waiting for a medic (an unnecessary class in a game like COD4), is a tedious task that distracts from the fun.
So how is unrealistic medic system any better?
A lot, you seem to be stuck on the realism factor without any knowledge on how things actually work in real life.Wtf does that have to do with anything?
I can already imagine people camp health/ammo stations with MGs with "deep penetration" perks, or other folks with M203. The whole idea behind regen is that it keeps the defense in retreat and offense on pressure. You have basically 5 seconds until the guy starts rehealing, if you cant come up with a tactical solution in those 5 seconds, youre making mistakes and should pay for it.What about health and ammo stations in SD, HQ, and other objective based gamemodes. Ive never really had a problem with hitboxes I always kill them just fine its only when I miss because of lag that I get upset.Comment

That's funny, I don't desperately need a so-called reality factor. I just want the game to work properly: COD does, BF2 (as it compares with COD) doesn't. There's nothing else to it, really...Comment

I have played CoD4 and i didnt like it. How doesnt a field dressing that you use to stop the bleeding (wish SHOULD be in the game) fit into the game?

You could just have a field dressing with you like in PR
So how is unrealistic medic system any better?
Medic system is FAR more realistic than magically healing yourself
A lot, you seem to be stuck on the realism factor without any knowledge on how things actually work in real life.
Yeah coz irl a soldier can magically heal himself in 7-8 seconds, get shot, heal himself again, get shot again, heal himself again and continue to do so,Comment

"Yeah coz irl a soldier can magically heal himself in 7-8 seconds, get shot, heal himself again, get shot again, heal himself again and continue to do so,"
You do the same thing in BF2, the only difference is how they implement the healing. It all comes down to the same system, but one game is a lot more fast-paced, so they favored self-healing instead. There's nothing wrong with that: at this point, you're really grasping at straws in order to justify your preference for BF2/PR. At least keep your grievances logical...Comment

Agian dude because one game is specificly better for one thing while the other is good for everything, cod4 has small maps for shotting only so they have their game engen tweeked for shooting while bf2 has Flying, swimming, driving all that put stress on the game engine. Take best buy and gamestop lets say you want to buy a video game that is coming out next week who will have it first? the company who sells everything electrinic or the one who sells just video games? My logic is good im just showing you what i mean.By your logic, I should be given straight A's all through my educational period because there are so many things going on in my life that I can't possibly concentrate on those classes alone.
Please...
If you're going to do something, do it right. The truth is, COD4's infantry is vastly superior to BF2's.
i dont use or play with mods so i have no clue what they do please tell me :/Yeah. This is how it works. You have 100 damage hitpoints, and different weapons do different damage over different range, with different equipment (as such, a silencer breaks a weapons damage down by 30-50%, and reduces its range by 50-70%). So if we take weapon A, which does 40 hitpoints of damage at close range, it does 30 hitpoints damage over X range (as bullet loses energy over distance). So if you hit someone, theres a 5 second pause before they start regenerating, and they regenerate in 2 seconds. This means, that you HAVE to keep pressure on your opponent. Every time you even slightly damage your opponent, the regeneration timer (5 seconds) resers, and since you can shoot through most walls giving variable levels of damage (95%, 70%, 30% out of the damage), you can keep your opponent pinned down, or even kill the bastard.
Regenerative health keeps focus on the firefight and opens up a lot of cool options.
And from realism point of view, no different than magical medipacks.
BS. Mods can pull it off just fine. POE2 and PR for example.
Not really both are stupid, mostly healing after getting shot within 5 seconds is just totaly ilogical, medipacks have been used in real life not tossed on the round and absorbed but puting a morphene shot and stopping the bleededing is what they used to do in wars then a soldier could fight so they where on the right path but dident do it.Comment

None of the games handles wounded soldiers even remotely realistic.
Realistic would be this:- Wounded may take months to recover
- You may not recover at all, your solider being permanently crippled
- Getting killed means that the solider is permanently gone
Discussing "realism" is pointless as long as a soldier is combat ready again a short time after taking several rounds through the chest, it doesn't matter if he recovered by meditating in a corner or having a medic give him a healing suppository.
Battlefield is slower paced, so it makes sense to enforce teamwork by having team members heal and resupply each other.
But COD4 is a different game with smaller maps and a faster pace, so they have chosen another solution that fits better with that game.Comment

I personally wasn't comparing their healing system, as it has nothing to do with my original point that COD4 is superior to BF2 in terms of ground combat because the latter suffers from poor hit registration and overall netcode. You tried to argue that DICE/EA should be forgiven because of the added "features", but the truth is they could've coded them in properly. They didn't.
Your BestBuy/GameStop example is laughable. Don't make explain it to you...
