Have you tried the game? Most of the ads are blank, or for something like "Join the Euro team!" or crap like that. The only real ad I've seen was for Intel, which was hardly noticeable...

Yes I have tried 2142 on another's computer, I refuse to install a game on my computer with an agreement like that.. its just a crappy bf2 mod a drunken down syndrome 2 year old with one eye could have done better programming with a pad and pencil..

2142 took all the n00bs out of BF2 so it made BF2 more enjoyable, 2142 effects BF2 users because it took away BF2's support for patches other than that 2142 was a great thing for the BF2 community.

I am so sick of that freaking terms that's why and also, I disliked alot of arcadish game like BF2and BF2142, so I'm playing PR Mod. Sure some time, I'm just playing arcadish game for fun because I'm extremely bored, but I just hate it when people brags about how good they are in multiplayer, which really turns me off.

2142 also comes with spyware installed. That's why some people get ads and some don't. The ads are supposed to pertain to what you've browsed on the internet, just like the google ads you see on websites.

The "jet like" air vehicles seemed too easy to fly, I actually ran into a building once, expecting to blow to bits, only to bounce off of it and keep puttering along. Strange as it may be for me to want to die, I rather be punished for stupid flying than gain no skill. *shrug*

Another thing, pretaining to the vehicles in general, was their design, for "high tech" futuristic fighting machines, they just sort of look like a bunch of boxes stuck together, didn't seem like they took enough time to really come up with original, or even interestingly styled tech.:salute:

As far as mods though, it does at least have First Strike, looks like that may just save it, quality wise they seem to have done a fantastic job, time will tell....

i like modern combat and i dont really spend that much money on games. i only really play a few fames (cs and ns and bf2 and sims 2 series)

I must confess that I've been playing 2142 since Rubber Ducky went to POE2 (which for the life of me, I can't install properly). So after close to a month of playing and racking up a bunch of ranks and unlocks . . .I'm trying to get POE2 again:laugh:

2142 simply does not have the versatility of BF2. The maps seem to be bland copies of each other with silos just spread out in different areas. The kits and unlocks you NEED to be effective with vary from map to map. Imagine caping a point and you have orders to defend. What do you do? Grab that engineer kit and lay down some mines; but wait, you don't have them. Good luck putting 4 rounds into an apc, but you'll have better luck taking out the hover tank because the only way he'll kill you is by sliding over you on accident.

Lastly, the community is like BF2 around 2 years ago. You WILL see people wall hacking on most maps, throwing grenades through walls. and constant game chat of Voss whore, Ganz whore, etc., etc. And yes, titan mode is a nade, a.m.p., sentry gun, titan gun whoring, orgy of filth.

So all in all, BF2 is much better. Armor should kill infantry, helos should kill infantry and armor, and jets should kill everything. BTW, BF2 AA guns do work, you just have to survive the first strafe
