I was playing demo of 2142 and I get bored it after 1hour, as i remember you can't have c4 or grenades at the beggining, must be unlocked, which is totally cr4ap

To be fair, the amount of grenade whores is much lower than BF 2.

yeah, but I wonder if it depends what map. Because grenade whoring is epidemic on Karkand, but very, very minimal on other maps. Only place I see it is on Iron Gator or Warlord.

2142 gets boring fast, all the clans I used to play with have disappeared from 2142, no one in my clan would touch it after the beta (they tried - didn't like), I played for a few months.

I remember this one guy, who was a brig, kept teamkilling people, asked why, he said he was bored.

And grenade whores galore in Titans. And certain spots in maps like Gib and Cerbere. Atleast you can sneak past clays.

I played the demo BF2142, didn't like it - didn't buy the game - so i still play BF2 which is good and fun.

Punkbuster screwed over the 2142 experience for me. It was fun from an infrantry prospective. I liked the infrantry combat in the game which was why I played it. But punkBusters new 2142 client wont let me play the game unless I disable both Antivirus and Firewalls leaving me completely vulnerable during the game. All this because they wanted to "try" their new PB services.

If I play 2142 right now I'll get kicked for missing key packets as the PB Services have some bat netcode. The BF2 PunkBuster client is what they should've kept on 2142.

I bought the game in October....uninstalled it in November.....just recently I reinstalled it to try again...uninstalled it a week later....

2142 just isnt "fun" for me....the gameplay gets old very fast, I dont care for the conflict, nor the technologies, plus on the game is centered around stats and ranks(more so than BF2) and that leaves the 2142 even LESS mature the BF2's(and thats saying something)


Plus I play BF2 for the mods, and I mod BF2 myself, so swithching to a game that has 0 mod support would be kinda stupid of me.

Plus I'm a little turned off at how much di(EA)ce flat out LIED to the community so many times with that game that I'm not even willing to give it the time of day....

I prefer BF2's modern setting, weapons, armies, vehicles..

I agree that, 2142 is like a unreal tournament which i dont like :|:

2142 offers no match for bf2's jets and helos, so it's useless to me.

wel, i think its cos its a modern game, and people like them, i think ill keep playing till Firwt seargent, then move to POE2, maybe get into some tournys.

I bought 2142 and played it for several months but I got tired of it and bored. Titan mode, which I initially really enjoyed, was ruined by the unlimited number of APMs and sentry guns that could be placed in the titan. It just turned the game into a predictable lagfest.

As for Conquest mode, the number of maps was limited and Fall of Berlin is so one-sided it was pointless to play it. Camp Gibraltar, Cerbere Landing and Tunis Harbor are pretty good but it's hardly enough to keep one's interest.

2142 has more emphasis in the damage and aiming of guns. It also has good future tech, but who would want to play a serious tuture game with stats and rewards when they can get the upcoming UT series. People want fun. BF 2 is fun, driving a plane at supersonic speed and pwning little ants on the ground with either machine guns and nuking the opposing base with bombs.
