If someone doesn't understand you, slow down, enunciate all of your words, and most importantly, speak louder. They will understand you then.

It's kind of like the furry cats argument. I mean, not all cats are furry.

          Too effing funny!

I assume the spotting system is set up in the language of the person playing, right? I read English and hear whatever the language is of the army I'm playing, so couldn't everyone communicate through this system? If I spot an APC it still shows the location of the APC on the map w/o my having to say anything. If I receive an order from my SL I hit the page up and it lets him know I'll comply, still nothing spoken or typed. I almost never speak because I always play late at night when I might wake someone up, and it works just fine.

Remember their are other countries that speak english as a main language buddy, including the UK, South Africa and Australia, so i wasnt necessarily putting the blame on the US. In fact I wasnt really thinking of the US at all because i dont play on their servers anyway, they've always got like 300-400 ping on my browser.

Speak for yourself mate, I play overseas servers all the time, NOT american ones though, European ones, as i still get pings below 50 on most of them.

I mean surely they can accept that english isnt the only language in the world, why not let people communicate how they want, it is a global game after all.

I am one of the "semi-fascist" server admins you are onabout. We adopted an "English Only" server rule, sinply because our members, who are predominantly English speaking, were tired of having to listen or try to communicate withte the seemingly endless amount of German players (what is it with Germans and BF2? The french are the same with CSS!) who joined then persisted to type and use VOIP in their native tounge. And since our members pay for the server and play there every night, I think it's their porogative to decide what is and what isn't accceptable.

Like it or not, English IS th accepted global universal language. As ashamed of it as I am that I only speak English, it has to be said that it'svery ignorant and antisocial to join a foreign server and to use your host's language. Its fair enough if you dont speak a word of the host's language you can stumble by using the in-game coms, and the odd foreign typed in message isnt too bad, but the problems occour when you get these forigners who never seem to shutup. Even when it's obvious no one else understands them and they are just spamnming the comms channels with their foriegn jabba.

We will ask players to only use english as we run an english server in england. We would not kick players for it but we request english only be used because most of our admin only speak english and we do need to monitor and protect our users from foul language.

A Few days ago I caught someone swearing in Spanish ( luckily I speak spanish ) so I could warn him and then eventually kick him for swearing. If I was not there he could have been offending a lot of people who understood without our admin being aware.

alot of people that play the game know at least basic english then the people that speak other languages. people use it so that EVERYONE can understand. WE should not have to learn 5 diffrent languages to play Bf2.

Idd say that about half of the BF2 community has learned english at there first language but its probably more. you have Uk,Us,Austraila all have english as offical language.

VC you live in england and you speak english so why are you complaning

I just htink you should be expected to speak the language of the country the server/clan is based in. So if you want to speak english, join an english speaking server, you want to speak swedish, join a swede server. Thats the most logical andeasiest soloution, it's ignorant to join a forign server then expect them to speak YOUR language.
