im ****in rly psit off at da moment,i downloaded 1.3 full it crashed 2 desktop on start up,same with 1.4 full..........any suggestions?

ok.... ive installed 1.4 full , now i fail to connect to my account everytime , dose anyone have any info on how i can play my game again ????

it mite be ur firewall,i had the same problem,ur not able 2 c zone alarm(if u hav it) coming up,u go down 2 the bottom left of the screen nd click everywere u shud get in

Still crashing when trying to join a server, although in single player I can play for about 2 minutes before it CTDs..

The problem i'm having is that randomly my UI just gets f**ked up. Then 5 minutes later, if i'm lucky, it fixes itself UNTIL it breaks itself again. I can't see my cursor to click on a spawn location (but it's there), and when I press TAB to show the score screen there is no text, only the layout shows. Once, my crosshair vanished when I jumped in an APC, but I was able to fix it by getting out and back in.

Is there any fix for this?

Also, I stopped a tank on a wooden bridge in Gulf of Oman and it started to bounce, making it nearly impossible to aim.

I'm having a problem with 1.4 My desktop PC runs like a champ, but my laptop will CTD only when trying to join a multi game. It'll run a single player game all day long, but immediately CTDs when joining a server.

My Laptop (HP Pavillion dv6095) has a freezing problem with BF2 and the BF2142 demo.

Main Specs:

It's running an AMD Turion X2 TL-56 (1.83)
Nvidia GO 7200 (128mb dedicated-256mb shared)
2GB ddr2 667mhz RAM
5400 RPM 100 GB HDD.

I can run at max res (1024x768) but native res is 1280x800.
I have Textures and Texture filtering set to high, everything on medium.

I can get into a server no probelm, but the freezing problem happens offline & online. I could have just got into a server, 2 minutes later, Crash, but not always to desktop. Sometimes CTD, sometimes just game image freezes, tehn i go task manager and end process, but sometimes, I have I have to completely re-boot. As I Said, the same happens to BF2142, but then again I could get 3+ full rounds on a 64 player server completed, then it decides to freeze.

But what is really annoying me is the fact that it is only BF2 and BF2142, HL2DM, CS:S and DoD:S all work fine, all day, they might get a little laggy, but thats due to hardware usage. So it must be BF2 and not the laptop right?

I am using the 1.4 patch, I have tried without patch, the same occurs, I have re-installed, whiped out of registry and anythngi else that I could think of...and I can't play BF2 on my desktop because the internet on it is broken (something to do with my VIA fast Ethernet Adapter Rhine III), so my laptop is my only choice until I upgrade my pc....please help, if it does help, Im using the..

86.02 ForceWare drivers, I know little on Nvidia drivers (I've been ATI all my life..till now) So if it is as simple as that I am just using the wrong drivers, could someone please point that out and point me to the correct drivers...

With the 1.4 patch I lose connection to the server regularly when in commander mode.

I have never had a CTD with BF2, it has been good up till this point but 1.4 is not good in this area.

No i Havn't Ive reinstalled everything nothing works, i can occasionaly get on but after the game loads (after server screen) it says somnthing like game not avaible only uses same mod :S

I had that once Have you tried reinstalling the whole thing that fixed mine. Also if your using multiple accounts they may conflict with each other. Another 1.4 bug

New bug people havn't reported:

I was in a server last night with my clan. We noticed that very often, tanks show no firing when firing. IE....the tank will sit there, move back slightly....then the target tank will bump backwards a bit. In reality, the tank fired...which caused the rockback...and the target tank got hit...causing it to bump back slightly.

Visually, no exploisions or tank shells were seen. The tanks simply appeared to move backwards.

We shot 50 shells and we could only see about 20 of those shots. We all saw the same thing.

I noticed the tank thing once or twice between CTD's, and thought I was imagining things. I should mention that all my action is single player. I've never played on Internet.

Im have major issues. I can load the game byt when I try to get onto my server it CTD at the 62% loading the map geometries. I just got a new ATI 256 x1950 pro is there any known issues with this card and game? PLEASE HELP ME! I paying for a server and I cant even use it right now. I do have the 1.4 patch. No mods. Xp sp2 amd athlon 64 3000 3 gigs of ram. I think there could be an issues with files that are not getting loaded when I instll the game. Can some tell me how big the BF2 folder should be. Mine is not even a gig, thats why I think there is a issue with the files not being there. I have reinstalled like 10 times and going crazy!
