Yeah, now that I think of it I don't remember ever seeing a white assault class. It probably would have made more sense to make it selectable but I guess it doesn't really matter.

On another note, I think 2142 is going to have some sort of player customization.

Kool, another reason to buy 2142. Anyways, if you really want white assault guy, pick up assault kit from dead guy.

Using vehicle drops for artillery and snipers is an exploit and is the same as using it get glitch inside a building.

e.g. using a vehicle drop, you can take out arty in 3 seconds, something you would not be able to do otherwise

How is it the same. Dropping a car on a person in real life I think would kill them. I agree that dropping on arty and using it to glitch into a building is wrong but saying it's the same in my opinion is wrong.

Old school squad hopping wasn't bad.

This is completely and utterly ridiculous.

To take out artillery.

In a battlefield game.

Man, I wish there was an IQ test to get into this game.

I wish EA/Dice would use an IQ test to hire developers. If they did we would have nothing to talk about.

The vehicle drop seemed mint at first. Now its used for everthing but transport: hacks and bombs....not good

Thats not true on Dragon Valley. If I'm USMC, and Spec Ops, and if USMC has Hill Village, I'll go on foot to the enemy arty. I can conceal myself better in the trees than if I were driving on the road. Spec Ops need to be sneaky. Same with Vista Point. I'd rather take that base on foot than in a car.

Yea, i agree, a 1 ton car/truck would definetly crush people really easy. It would in fact probably still kill artillery cannons, it would ben the cannon barrel so then it can't fire (even the slightest bend in a barrel makes in inoperable pretty much).

Vehicles ARE FOR TRANSPORT!

It will be fixed in the next patch.

The concept of landing a vehicle on a carrier/building or other should had been discussed and evaluated before the release of the patch, yet you consider it "exploiting" the option? Seriously, think about it for a sec...ok...thought about it yet? Alright..

I've said it since the beginning, and I will say it again: An exploit is something that wasn't meant to happen, and some have found a way to make it happen. Dropping a car on a jet, helicopter was a definite possibility, especially considering the fact that DICE was promoting the fact that you could essentially drop a vehicle on a camping sniper...

I'm not talking about exploits like being able to crawl underneath the map, jump/proning, etc etc. I'm talking about a simple and obvious problem of being able to drop a vehicle anywhere on a map, it was begging to have people drop it on other vehicles, etc. I mean, as soon as I heard they were offering this, I called it: People will start dropping vehicles on other vehicles and in areas not meant to have a vehicle drop.

I guess this simple concept evades some and in turn consider it an exploit...

As much as I like the idea of the vechile drop, being able to drop in areas not meant to be dropped in is a serious statement. It should be set to designated areas on a map, if you own that control point.

believe it or not I can conceal myself in the trees with a car pretty well. And evade on coming enemies easily. The fact I may get spotted on the way while running a long time consuming distance can be boring to be honest. In a car, I will get there faster, and say I'm spotted, will be well outta there before they know it. Can always just jump out also. At the starting sequence from USMC, I will wait for a ride to spawn if I manage to miss one, no way I'm walking thAt far.

Has anyone been kicked or banned yet for dropping a car on someone?

I got kicked the other day for dropping a buggy on an APC trying to take a flag lol

Also I seen messages like "Using cars other than support will get you banned"

I remember someone mentioned something like this before.

I haven't, but that's just a stupid rule. I can see if you TK someone with it, but on the enemy? That's moronic.

Talus I have had nothing but respect for you for a long time...
However imo... as a commander or any soldier for that matter we should use any way possible to kill the enemy!!!
No one cries about being shot with an anti TANK round even though thats not what it was designed for...
In a real combat situation if any cargo plane pilot saw an opportunity to kill or destroy any enemy or enemy asset by dropping cargo on them-it i'm pretty sure it would happen.
I've been killed many times with medic shock paddles... exploit... no but they weren't designed for that.
What the heck as long as a person isn't hacking or getting in buildings that don't have entrances or doing other such "cheats" why don't they just let us kill the blasted enemy...kinda like it was a "war" game!!!
Oh well good fighting to all.

Shooting a soldier with a tank or anti-tank round
Running over a soldier with a jeep
Killing a single soldier with a c4 pack...
Killing with shock paddles
dropping supplies or vehicles on the ENEMY
All seems like killing in ways not intended for the weapon or vehicle but killing THE ENEMY just the same!!!

It's war... our assignment is to kill the enemy with ANY means available to us!!!

It comes down to this. If the server rules don't allow cartillery, don't do it. It's not allowed on my clan server. Commanders are warned, kicked, and banned, in that order. It's easy.

I agree with LONGTRANBILL.. in the lines of killing an enemy. good. The only problem is the difficulty in doing this is almost nil ? bad.
Every other non exploit killer (shock paddle shocked, car hit n runs) have a degree of difficult that could easily fail and lose a life in. Cartillery is a non expense regenerate tool that is dropped within seconds and mere millimetres of chosen dropzone. Not an exploit but a very lethal weapon when used (frequent).
How someone could cap a flag properly with this weapon at use is insane.
I never hear "watch out for that shock paddler!"

Just replace the car with a giant laser like Final Fastasy movie. Does the same effect really. And Karkand's hotel ACTUAL exploit taken as they can't drive it afterward..

In turn I agree with you FakeSound...
It doesn't take much skill to cartillerize a poor unsuspecting sniper...
And I do feel it's kinda lame to some degree..
But for now it is an available-legal- means of killing the enemy and after all that is the only reason I play the game...
So I will personally continue to use the 'weapon' on any servers that don't have a rule against it...just maybe not so much on the poor snipers...
Besides sniping is my favorite both in game and in life...
I'm sure that anyone that can remember playing on a team that I commanded would quickly agree that I try to always apologize for tk's with artty and such..
Believe me... When the cartillery thing is removed I wont miss it in the least...

I wish server admins would realize that most players don't look up every server's site to see all their rules...therefore a courtesy warning in game or something on the server choice page ie: no base rape no cartillery ...or such would be much better than an unsuspecting kick...

most servers have this stuff in the loading screen, and have it flashing throughout the game in big green letters at the top of the screen, and most admins will warn players about, it before and if they continue to do it than they will be kicked

as others have said, if a server doesnt allow it, dont do it, if you continue to break the server rules dont come to the forums and B*tch about getting kicked
