strike at karkand is a good map, but if they make another cqc map like it i will be dissapointed. throw some scout helis in there, and some buildings we can go into and snipe people out of.
To me and everyone else it looks like you're whining about vehicles.
That you want a pure infantry map.
If that's not what you meant then please clarify.
And then there's this one also from the first page:
what i mean is any map that has decent close quarters is like for example in karkand, u got those alleyways from the very first building all the way up to square.....perfect for infantry but armor is usually at every opening trynna catch ppl as they spawn....infact.....they shouldnt remove the armor, just make the key points unaccessable by armor....i dont think they should be able to access areas where the flag is (where action is).......also making it impossible to cap flags in armor
Im getting a bit sick of city stuff .its all the same :p
What i would like to see is a mix eg....They came in from the desert dunes(some simple hills and fox holes make great distance shooting) ,after being dropped by blackhawks or paratrooped. But there are no helo`s ovcourse
no armour, maybe just a few jeeps for both
so i would like to see a simple town not city surrounded by desert dunes.
desert combat42 had awesome balance of open terrain and excellent cities
lets face it the whole Kark thing gets boring
it only needs 2 caps and 2 bases(each in red area so no main camps)
anyway 1 maps says thanxs for your troubles they should give us grunts 3:cry:
The road to Jalalabad is not Jalalabad itself! I do not think it will be an urban style map. I think it will be something like Clean Sweep or Kubra. Maybe one of the spawn points will be a city suburb/urban area.
When I think of "The road to Jalalabad" I remember a documentary which I saw one day on Al-Jazeera TV which had exactly the same title. I remember an open area in that documentary with lots of mountains and some roads like those in Gazala (if you ever played bf1942). I am thinking it will be closer to Gazala but without the desert! maybe mountains and some snow on some of the summits!!
Lool I described the whole map! I started to believe myself That is just what I imagine :)
Infantry only I hope. I really how it's not like Kubra or Clean Sweep and "open". If dice doesn't realise the majority of Battlefield 2 players like and enjoy small, infantry based and close quarter fights like Karkand, Sharqi and Mashtuur, then they've failed as a developer. We don't want some boring map like Zatar, offer us something that is worthwhile.
a diffrent scenario could be a us convoy is ambushed and the us and mec battle to find the wrekage as valuable intel is in there,as in the map a road with burnt out humvees and tanks and all that good stuff, the mec starts at 1 end and us at the other with flags thrown in intermintently.
I hope it's a new citymap. I have AF, EF and the majority of china maps for large scale tank battles. One with about these large maps, is that it's a risk just getting in a vehicle from point A to point B, since a jet can take you down in a matter of seconds with a bomb drop, or even only a cannon.
Fewer vehicles equals more claymore spam. If you like having every flag littered with claymores and snipers running around into firefights dropping clays in the middle of everyone, then by all means hope for another Karkand map.
How is his post rude and useless? It's pretty accurate actually, BF2 is primarily a vehicle game, that's what seperates it from competition. Counter Striker is an infantry game. Nevertheless I prefer infantry combat in BF2 to other games.
