I think you're confusing "anti-vehicle" with "pro-urban". Its a common fact that spread out maps where infantry have nothing to do (like most of the Chinese maps) are the least popular, and the urban ones seem to be the faves for a lot of people.
It's not necessarily because people dont like vehicles, its the close quarters, street to street fighting which I think appeals to people. Vehicles can still come too, its just a bit fairer for infantry as theyre not in no mans land getting raped at distance by an APC or Tank, they can hop in an out of corners and sidestreets and its far harder for the vehicles to see where its coming from. Which is probably why you dont like urban maps.
Calm down dude, your bigger maps are still going to be there, its just less people might be on them if Jalala-whatever is urban.

I think, urban maps, with a lot of vehicles is optimal to satisfy everebody, and infantry gonna get a chance + some nice armor battles... I must admit urban fight more intensive, than fight in a middle of the desert...
