    I think people like awards purely because it displays what areas they have put effort into. I believe that some of the awards like expert helicopter and aviator should have remained the same because if you wanted them you really had to specialise in them. Say you had the expert helicopter badge at this stage - I dont kow about you but I'd assume theyre good in the chopper :P

    All that was really needed was to switch the rank requirements (awards) for major and brigadier general as im nearly colonel and I have pretty much all the expert kit combat badges.

    However, as someone mentioned above, the drop in requirements is good for a number of awards including the knife ones because it removes the 'need' to stat pad.

    200 wins for 25000 points is about right I think. Assuming you got 100 pts per round that'd be 20000pts from 200 wins.

      I hope they don't change War College. I had to boost my win/loss ratio from around 2.20:1 to 3:1, which was hard because I already played well over 1000 games probably by that point. Everyone else should have to work for it too. It's not fun when they lower awards and everyone ends up with everything. If they really want to change requirements, they should just change the whole award system so it isn't just a set of challenges. They should make more awards that are tied in with how well you do in a team. There should definitely be awards for each of the Top Leaders stats at the end of each game, where it shows who was the best engineer, sniper, tank, ground defense, etc. So each time you get the top spot, you get some special award... and if you get more than one top spot in one game you get an even better award, and as you accumulate these awards, it gives you even better awards. It should work kind of like stars but be more descriptive. And it would just be nice to have something unique to show for your soldier rather than everyone having the same thing. Like stars, I have over 200 of gold and silver and almost 200 of bronze, I think. But I really don't care since it's meaningless. But if I got some sort of medal for that instead of something for just playing 35 minutes on a server, then that would be better. Okay, I'm tired. I'm done rambling.

        The war college ribbon was a stupid, pointless award that encouraged team swapping and treachery.

        The sooner it is changed, the better.

        On rounds I've attempted the expert explosives seriously, I have scored 30-37 explosives kills several times.

        Knife and pistol experts are quite straight forward to get now... the issue is that most people haven't got the patience to work at it... so they go somewhere that has everyone else trying the same thing.

        You could probably fix it by imposing something like 'Expert knife: 18 kills with knife in a round. No more than 2 kills of the same player count towards this total.'

          Have you ever played Daiblo2? They do the same thing... they reset the ladder ~every half a year and ladder players become nonladder, I suggested to do the same in BF2... new patch, new accounts I say!:evil:

          ->impossible to get it in 32-32 means: at most 16 enemies... think it over again - if someone statpadded his knife badge than his favorit victon is his clan emmber/mate with 18+ kills. quite obvious. Getting k/p badge in a k/p server is also a shame

              I see it every Day on karkand 24/7 superserver.co.uk (Auto Teamchange on Mapstart).
              95% wins US. After every newstart or reload of the Map are 2/3 of the Players in the us Team. And they don't spawn in the first 3 or 4 Minutes (after a few minutes are the Teams balanced ). :cussing:
              Remove this, is one of the best Ideas ever.:banana:

                I did not hear any whining when EA provided Unlocks or other perks in previous upgrades to the game.

                Why should there be whining now? Perhaps is it because very few people have the ability to sit 10 hours a day in front of the game? Some of us actually have lives, wives and children to take care of (Some of whom probably begs incessantly for more BF2 time or LEET gaming rigs)

                I think the changes will remove the padding with the P&K servers and other problems that stains the entire community. Some of us did earn alot of these medals already with alot of work and gameplay. Congrats. Now the rest of the players have a shot at it as well.

                I would rather see us all finish the game and move on to the next game. What do you think will happen if EA released Battlepad #4 2 years from now and half a million players are still on BF2 trying to get that last knife kill to rank up and finish that old game?

                  I am pretty sure that he SF awards such as Tactical Support, Zip Line, and Grapple Hook are correct. I hope the time requirement on the general ranks is right.

                        Thats the whole point! We dont want to finish the game!! We like it why finish??! If you play just to finish it why do you play anyway?

                          Very well said! tunnel vision hits alot of people and they don't see that others are different. My co-workers and I pay at lunch, then maybe 1-2 hours a few nights a week. We do work for "rewards" but don't sacrifice teamwork for them (most of the time! )

                              No, not everyone will have them. The time requirements are still prohibitive to all but the hard core player. If you thinks any casual video game player plays a game for more than 100 hours you live in a strange little world. I am anything but casual and I have ~150 hours logged.

                              They get more sales from the casual players than they do from the hardcore. This is their audience, not us. Why do you think infantry maps are popular? Because it takes very little practice to jump in with a gun and have action. Understand this and you will understand all of the decisions that have been made about the game during the past few months.
