that's a lot of I's, squad hopping involves teamwork. I want it to stay the way it is.
I am fine with you having another opinion than me on that topic.
Still teamwork means working your way together through the enemy lines etc. IMHO. Instead of the front on the battlefield totally breaking down beause one f...ing single squadleader managed to sneak through somewhere, and all dead people think "Yay! Slaughterfest! Spawning behind enemy lines!"

Let me guess, you where ownd by that tacktick?¿
It's fine to me, give give a extra dimension instead 2 dimension.

I GOT owned by it - and I OWNED others with it.
Gameplay sucked in both cases.
You're the one-dimensional thinker here, because you cannot imagine that somebody CAN do squadhopping but still doesn't like it. You cannot imagine that someone cares about gameplay instead about winning - that's beyond your horizon obviously.

If you didn't want to flame, you wouldn't look up K/D ratios, as they have absolutely nothing to do with the topic. A true clan player knows that the public K/D ratio has nothing to do with skills. Some clan players almost NEVER play public, they have very low scores, but this means NOTHING, because they train and play wars on unranked servers all the time. If you just go playing public between the wars to get some knife badge WITHOUT using the stat-padders-knife-only-servers, just for fun, then your K/D ratio will drop etc etc... K/D ratio totally fails to make a point here, it's just an attempt to say "Hey I am more important than you because of my better K/D ratio", pretty arrogant if you ask me....
It's okay that 75% like squadhopping.
Then why do I argue here?
1. Because some of those 75% claim squadhopping was intended from the beginning on by DICE
2. Because some of those 75% claim attacking would be impossible without squadhopping because of the commander (or some similar "gameplay will be destroyed" argument)
3. Because some of those 75% claim I want this removed only because I want to win more often
I just disagree with those arguments, although I can accept the general opinion of people who like squadhopping.

That's a pretty bold statement. I gained my knife badge without using the knife only servers and my K/D ratio was still on par with what I normally get. Regardless, you should stop bringing skill into the equation. SH has nothing to do with one's skill level. It's a means of moving around the battlefield without waiting for a vehicle.

I just wanted to point out that there are many reasons why a clan player's public stats can't be used to jump to conclusions about his skill in clanwars. Of course a single round to get the Basic Knife Badge won't kill your K/D Ration if you've already played for a longer period of time.

So far, from reading all this I have yet to find a good and solid argument, why Shopping is such an important thing that disabling it would leave gameplay seriously damaged. No such thing.
What amuses me is how peopel think the battle should be at the flags, so everyone rushes from one flag to another expecting the fight to begin at the flag. Cautios movement, tactical deployment, survival
people think that THIS is not a part of the game. People think that you should be having an easy ticket back to action once you screw up. Or once someone outplays you. Tough call. Shopping will leave you absolutely no negative affect when you die, except for a 15 second pause, and that is wrong.
Someone compared this to UT, and he was damn right.
And this wont kill clan games, this will just force clans to seek a new strategy.

Please Stop bringing the "SIM" argument and I'll stop bringing the "Skill" argument.
Just because this is labeled an arcade game doesn't mean that it can't have a 'reletively' realistic feel to the gameplay.
"Popping" in and out of the battlefield by Squad-hopping is a completely unrealistic implement of the SL Spawning Feature.
It actually ruins the Immersion people get of Fighting on a battlefield.
Which despite the "arcade" label is something DICE is striving for.
Still it's a MILITARY arcade game. The gammode is called conquest. It would be called deathmatch if they wanted everyone to spawn into the action all the time without any movement involved.
This conquest gamemode defined the great success of BF1942, the grandfather of all Battlefield games. The gamemode was pretty slow but finally brought more tactics and strategy into the FPS genre than any arcade shooter game before.
There are flags on the Battlefield, representing which parts of it are under your control, and which part are under the enemy's control. But with squadhopping, you can spawn directly into the radius of an enemy's flag - this destroys the whole idea of this gamemode IMHO and makes it play like deathmatch.

guy played team deatmatch on bf1942?
is tottaly different what you are saying.
I did not mean "BF1942 team deathmatch", I just meant the deathmatch as a general gamemode, available in almost any shooter since DooM. I meant the fact that you respawn right into the action no matter when or when you die, as a typical charactaristic of this gamemode. But in a BF1942 team deathmatch you STILL had to walk ways actually!
It remains fact that the flags have totally lost their VALUE as a spawnpoint due to squadhopping in BF2. This value is what defined the conquest gamemode IMHO.
