    Re: EA went overboard reseting

well, what if it wasn't the No.1 guy who get resetted? what if it's some other guy? Would anyone care?

Law and order should apply to everyone. If he's resetted, I would believe that he is guilty of cheating/padding unless he can present evidence that he has never done it.

Firestorm has been busted by an AUTHORITY. this is not a legal justice situation here, this is someone who possibly get what he got by breaking rules. EA has the final intepretion on rules, so sucks to be you.

Oh come on...nobody knows what EA did. They haven't made any attempt to say what they have done. No evidence has ever been posted. I'm sorry, but I refuse to believe that somebody got proof of the #1 ranked guy on the leaderboard cheating and didn't post it somewhere like on BF2RS.com. I know for a fact if I caught him cheating, I'd post about it for the sheer principle of showing everybody that the #1 guy is a cheater. The most common threads on any BF2 site always seem to be about some guy cheating. Yet, no thread about Firestorm cheating...sure. And lets not forget about EA...who have shown that they can just as easily make a mistake as anybody. I mean, lets look at all the bugs in BF2, the crappy expansion called Special Forces, and the crappy booster pack Euro Forces...not to mention patch after patch that never seems to actually fix the problems they say they are going to fix like the red tag bug. They can make mistakes, and until shown some kind of proof showing Firestorm cheating, I'm going to believe what he's said and believe that EA punished somebody innocent.

This post contains so many logical fallacies I don't even know where to start.

Lets ignore the guy with the alleged video because like you said that's just heresay at this point in time.

First you say "since EA has bugs in their software therefore they made a mistake resetting this guys stats". Do I honestly need to explain why this logic is problematic?

Then we have the notion that since nobody has ever claimed he cheats it therefore never happened. So only people who get called out are actually cheaters? If nobody notices then it's not cheating?

Look it's admirable that you are sticking up for your friend but you make a poor Johnny Cochrane jr. It's certainly possible that EA made a mistake and if that's the case I hope they correct it. As it stands now it's his word vs EAs.

EA then does their own investigation before they take any action, so each report goes thru 4-5 people who each look into a player or server before decision is made to the outcome of each report.

        Indian .....

King|Dave of BF2RS has already stated the they never recieved any allogations about firestrom or any evidence and had never forwarded any request for an investigation and that this was all done in house by EA

Co-incidence also that they were reseting all the Glitchers in the Top 10 that had high commander scores on the same day.

It looks very much like they thought firestorm was a commander glitcher becuase of his high commander score but had not even bothered to research him correctly.

Probably due to lack of resources on the reset team.

Maybe its about time you got in touch with EA|Shawn and found out what is really going on ?

well if daves admins didnt have a report on them, then as he stated it was probably done in house by EACS

OK NOW IM REALLY GETTING CONFUSED!
you just said that there were routes to stat reset now you say the routes were not used as neither bf2rs or bfroe know whats going on,and it must be inhouse by EACS?
JUST TELL ME WHAT I DID AND BE DONE WITH IT!
if it was an accident SO BE IT!
if i did something im not aware of to get stats reset SO BE IT!
BUT I REALLY WANT TO JUST END THIS AND KNOW THE TRUTH!
someone somewhere knows something, except for those that really seem to matter....the players!

It's even worse because it seems there are a number of people that are having this glitch done to them on purpose, and then they are the ones getting stats reset. It's becoming a joke that needs to be fixed. I mean, who wants to be commander anymore when there is a chance that your stats could get screwed up, and they erased.

It's just some friggin' points for christ sake. Even if it's an accident, even if it's EA's fault, or even if he went of a cheated (Which, since I give everyone the benefit of the doubt, I doubt it did), it's just some friggin' points.

Firestorm, ****-n-lock and earn em' back. Sure, it took you a long time to do so, sure it's probably annoying to be targeted, but it's seriously nothing that should be fussed over. Pick a kit, pick a map, start earning points again. It's that simple.

All this, " Cheater, n00b, state-reset " crap needs to go. It just looks silly. A bunch of people sitting around bickering over a system that has no real world value. I could see if you won cash or somthing for holding the top spot... or at least a bag of doritos.

I don't know the guy, and have never played on the moongamers karkand server. If he was cheating, I'm glad he got reset. My point was all these people seem to think that EA is infallible, and that they could never make a mistake. I'd like to see one of you get your stats reset for no reason, and then argue that EA could never make a mistake.

That's what it sounds like to me too.

I agree that Firestorm deserves an explanation, and sooner rather than later. And the mindset around here should be innocent until proven guilty.

Ha'! You're working off of the assumption that when people read things, they take it at as is.

No no no my friend, that's not how it works in the forums. People often read things, and then respond to what the "think/assume" you're saying. So, obviously when you said EA could have made a mistake and should fix the mistake if it's there, you really meant that EA is an ungodly force for good that's not capable of making mistakes.

                        Make sense?

So we pretend it is a system of law, but assbackwards because it fits to the situation? Guilty until proven innocent, yet if innocent there's nothing you can do about it? EA should be the ones presenting the "evidence" that people getting reset are guilty, why? Because if you did nothing wrong, there's nothing to show, especially AFTER they have moved the "evidence" to the trash can with no restore function.

a round score of 256 speaks for itself.
