You're splitting hairs, obviously the guy didn't mean firestorm had never played as non-commander and whether he admins a server or outright owns it, the end result is the same: he has the means. He was in a tight race on the leaderbord so you know he had the motive. Obviously there was some substance to what this person is claiming if firestorms stats got reset.

Hate to break the news to you guys, but I am now on lunchtime and have the time to look up the real facts.

The fact is, that as of Nov 12 2005 THIS MAN WAS NOT AN ADMIN FOR OUR SERVER AND HAD ABSOLUTELY NO AUTHORITY TO PERFORM THE COMMANDER HACK.

Any videos taken in OCTOBER 2005 would have been as him as a player ONLY, without the means to perform the hack.

I will agree with you all 100% that cheating for score is pathetic. However, he didn't. I know this man, you people obviously don't. God forbid you people ever have to face a similar jury of people like yourselves who never investigate the facts, but burn people on conjecture and hearsay.

He never faced a jury of his peers he faced the "authorities" who presumably did some checking into his account before they reset.

If they truly did no checking whatsoever or just randomly reset peoples stats then he has a legitimate reason to be upset but somehow I find that hard to believe.

I started this thread to point out it looks like EA made a mistake...

Then follows a bunch of idiots with accusations of hacks glitches suposed video evidence which has all been disproved by the server owners.

You people should be ashamed of yourselves the way you go on on these forums is pathetic and childish.

look, the commander glitch was known as early as the game came out. nobody was talking about it because nobody wanted to know their "little secret." now that the CEA guys basically told the whole BF2 community about it, a lot of the top ppl are in trouble.

FireStorm has his own server. FireStorm is ALWAYS the commander. back when i was still playing BF2 regularly, he would often do the commander glitch during the wee hours in the morning or there aren't a lot of ppl (or they're all his friends). he would only do it for a couple thousand points or sometimes, just a few hundred.

a few weeks ago, i submitted a FRAPS recording of FireStorm doing the commander glitch back in early October (of last year) and BF2RS/EA only did something about it just today. i didn't submitted it then because honestly, i didn't care. but now that a lot of ppl are abusing it, i do care now.

it's about time he got reset.

i'll post the video once EA/DICE releases a fix for this glitch. the video shows how to do it so i don't want the n00b server admins to do it or ppl who are friends with server admins to get a few easy hundred points by doing the commander glitch.

now, i'm surprised they haven't done anything yet to the #5 guy - [N)@(M]Kain!

but still, more than a month has passed and nothing has been done. whereas they were sort of quick to react to the FireStorm video. i guess once [N)@(M]Kain moves to the top spot THEN they'll do something...

OK, I looked on several forums now, he wasn't reported on BF2rankedservers.com , they also don't know why he got reset, on other forums firestorm replies with the fact he also doesn't know why (offcourse) ,

Thing is though that Firestorm was admin and commander alot. He probably has got advantage from this glitch at some point, totally by accident and maybe without even noticing. Would you call yourself a hax0r if you broke the rules due to buggy game design?

Trouble with numbers is that they is 1's and 0's where as the people behind them are far more complex, sadly it would seem we want to think he was out to hack because of this, yet we all know from his stats and debates held before that he was a pretty average player and his position on the table existed purly as a function of the amount of time he played.
Without knowing the persons intent, nor the circumstances or even the reason his stats were whiped i think it would be fair enough not to lay into the guy.

and don't care if it shows how to glitch, doesn't mather, they will reset the persons who do it anyway.
