    Re: EA went overboard reseting

To the guy with the video:

Just do us all a favor and post the video. I know that you say that you do not want everyone to start using the exploit, but let's just be honest, if someone really wanted to find out how to do it, they could. I know for a fact that there are many clan sites that have it posted for everyone to see. And even if a couple of hundred or even thousand people are stupid enough to use the hack then so be it. Stats wiped just like they deserve.

To be honest, I am starting to get the feeling that you don't have anything on Firestorm. You kinda sound like one of those people that are just trying to get your few moments of BF2 fame for the guy who supposedly brought the "Great Firestorm" down.

If you have got something to show, then show it! If not, shut your mouth, cause no one wants to hear your false accusations/ BS!!!!!!!!

Looks fairly close to me. I believe the point is consistancy with numbers of 2^n - 1 in the stats could be used as sort of a signal to investigate further. Of course, with smaller numbers, it's likely to be coincidence, with larger numbers, maybe around 2^16 - 1 (which is where a lot of those 65535 numbers would come in that you see in a lot of screenshots/stat pages in question) or once you exceed 2^18 - 1 where the gaps are exceeding 100,000, would it be questionable.

And btw, what school did you goto where they taught exponents in first grade?
It just seems like the maximum global score is a 24-bit unsigned integer, so of course it will be a power of two.

Considering that this hack has been probably going on since BF2 was released, there is a big chance that firestorm used the hack at some point in the past, for which he deserved to get his stats reset, even few months later. In case he was innocent, he still deserves to get his stats reset, just for not having life outside of BF2. As long as he doesn't kill himself, let the bastard suffer mentally.

Only after EA screws up worse than Enron in some sort of customer/employee mistreatment and fraud scandal.

                    Re: EA went overboard reseting

I only played in Moongamers once, that I remember, and Firestorm was commanding and admin on the server that night. First impressions are the ones that last. And my first impression of Firestorm was that he was a bit of a buttwadd in the game. He seemed to have a bit of an ego. And again, I only played on there for about an hour or so. He was threatening to kick people from the server and whatnot, and arguing with players quite often. I wasn't too impressed with his maturity.

Now, just cuz he was acting like an ass doesn't mean he deserved to get his stats reset. And just because he has no life and plays BF2 every waking hour, doesn't mean he should get his stats reset.

However, I have hear rumor, and this is just rumor, that its more like {TA}FireStorm.INC, if you know what I mean. Maybe he never used any hacks or glitches, but multiple people were playing as him. Wouldn't that be cheating too? Again, just a rumor. I'm not accusing anyone of anything.

On a side note, doesn't this all remind you of when |NERV|Raxor got reset? He came in and posted "I don't know why I got reset", but it was clear why he did, because he abused the system. Just seems very similar to me.

Firestorm apparently also lives on teamspeak, so for him to have multiple 'personalitys' he would have to have found soundalikes or be easily rumbled. Also, how would you proove it, true you'd have ip logs from the server but multiple ips for the same player mean nothing unless you could also proove the physical locations of the ips and that the distance between any two locations could not be travelled in the time span between log ons.

Although i still dont see why the amount of time someone else chooses to play has such a great impact on peoples lives that they feel the need to comment on it. All the people i know work during the day, so if i diddnt work its not like i could be out with mates during the day, thus id have nine hours a day free to fill with something- BF2, nothing or chores.... hmm Bf2 me thinks- if i were faced with that situation. Long way from freaky or sad, simply killing time.

                        Re: EA went overboard reseting

Not being a regular here yet I do enjoy the reading sometimes, its come to my attention that everyone is pointing fingers yet no ones really looking at the numbers so I did. What I see by changing the graph's in BF2's site is what concerns me.

By looking at his 'overall score/minute graph' you can see a steady score (2.7) a minute for months until about April 7th-8th then it went straight up(3.3),Player growth did the same from (3.5) too a (8.7).Then switch to his 'global score' and on the 9th-10th it went straight down which is apprarently when it was reset. So my basic question is why the jump in numbers? This should explain why this happened. My dates may be off a little due to the graph but you get my general idea. Im just thinking outloud here and offering suggestions.

                        Thanks ATSMusic

                          Re: EA went overboard reseting

No offense or anything but i think EA have more important things to do that sort out one persons stat's and lately ive seen all those hackers with their 1337 scores and its just ruined the leaderboards everyday a new hacker with a new score suddenly appears out of nowhere that is just a low importance of EA GAMES.

Like I said, its just a rumor. maybe people are trying to justify his outrageous playing time of 8-9 hours a day, or more sometimes. Most people with normal lives can't do that (job, school, wife/gf/, etc).
