    Install either 1.1 OR 2.0
I use 1.1... have done since it was released. Not sure of the benefits of 2.0 vs 1.1. All I can tell you is 1.1 has never given me problems and it seems to work for others (in this thread).

If you don't have either why not try 2.0, apparently .NET 2.0 has new and improved security.

    Peace.

lmao dude hence the TFT's in the thread title , if you want to force triple
buffering for 100HZ go ahead though i never needed it with my crt :hmm:

Btw, triple buffer in D3D games is up to the developer... most are just too damn lazy to bother implementing it. It's in UT2004 and helps a lot for me.
For OpenGL, it's driver dependant. NVIDIA used to have it, but they got rid of it. ATI has it. I hope that NVIDIA puts it back properly!

        BACKBUFFER = OpenGl

listen to me man i wont explain it again

Re: Triple buffering + Vsnyc high frame rates for TFT owners!

To avoid a lot of silly questions, Ive been playing with this all day, to try and come up with the right things to put in the blanks to run both BF2 vanilla and Special Forces. First use the program like a game launcher, bring it up select what you want to play and click start. To add a program, select new. Then move down to Properties for New Program. In the name blank put the name of the program. The next two blanks are the same for both programs.

            Path: C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield \BF2.exe
            Workpath: C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield

The next entry is Arguments. I will list the Vanilla entry first then Special Forces.

            Arguments: +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +modpath mods

            Arguments: +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +modpath mods/xpack +ignoreasserts 1

The do the other entries as earlier instructed. Im not a dummy but sometimes Im slow so I figured some other people are as well and I made this entry to help all the people like me. I noticed one sideeffect to doing this tweak. Ive been testing and coming back here all day and strange enough my in game scores have almost doubled. I hope you get the same side effect. By the way, If you arent a member of this forum why not? . . . . . Good luck. . . .Red

              Hello everybody!
this will be my forst post in this forum:hi:, so i`m nervous:)
i have found this forum to be very interesting and helpful! so thx to all you guys who spend your time here! you !

now to the topic, i tried this tweaker myself, and i got a good result in image quality, which improved quite a bit. BUT  when i run FRAPS with vsync enabled, i got only 50 fps as a maximum. when i dont run vsync i get up to 100 fps. so it seems vsync reduce my fps to max 50 and even with the tweaker running it doesnt go further then 50 fps. what do i do wrong?

              my specs:
              2 gig of ram
              7800 gt
              3 ghz processor @3.4
windows xp prof. service pack 2

if somebody knows a solution or tell me what i do wrong, that would be great! and thx in advance!

Hmmm seems to me something in the monitor setting is thinking your monitor is running at a max of 50hz, heres something you could try
go into present changer and change refresh rate to what ever your
                  refresh rate is....

If that doesnt work its not the DXTWEAKER but something else is going on
thinking your monitor's max is 50HZ

ALSO... Take off the Fraps, and press the Tide key the key which brings up
the command bar thing and type in this

                  renderer.drawfps 1

it will show you the correct fps

Thats what sucks about Vsync, it lowers your fps, but i never get above 50 anyway so i'll try it out

thx a lot, i will try it now. why doesnt use FRAPS? is there a known issue with the correct fps?i will let FRAPS and command console run at the same time to see if there are different

Na no difference really, just covering all the options... but it does seem
like to me something in the monitor setting when vsync is enabled is thinking
the monitor is only a max of 50hz.

so, i tried it, and the result was the same.FRAPS and command console give the same fps and even with modifying the refresh rate to 72 in the tweaker it was the same - stuck with 50 fps :-(

thx for your advice, you got some other ideas to try?

                              Lets try this KAWOOOM

Download refresh force, load it up and force the refresh rate of the hz
at which battlefield 2 is playing at, if you got a crt 85+ or TFT 60hz
make sure you dont force a setting which u havent selected in battlefield 2.

Apply the forced settings and try again with the tweaker
                              let me know what happens

I asked you about how this fix applies to CRTs 20 posts ago, but all you had to say was that triple buffering is more important for TFTs, so I tried it myself. Above, you'll find my experience with triple buffering and Vsync a CRT, which may actually help someone who has a similar question.

If you're here to help the community, and not just spout off, why don't you update your original post to at least include the current version of the file, if not the content of some posts which are useful, (like configuration instructions.) That way, people don't have to plow through 10 pages of crap just to try it out....?
