Listen up Fruitcake..... first of all VSync set to on does not increase your frame rate. Second Triple buffering puts alot of stress on the ahrdware of video card which means it can help cause for overheating. And if people use modded drivers and/or overclock suing Triple buffering and Vsynce defeats the purpose of gaining performance. Now if you have liquid cooling to an awesome air cooling then yeah you can do all this. But i would not recommend it.

Yes same here! Very cool, I never had vsync turned on because it's always lagged my games, but what a difference it makes! Very clear graphics, a big difference.

My only worry is what my performance will be like on some of the Special Forces maps, Iron Gator in particular.

Actually the fruitcake is you, please show me a thread where by proof
was shown of a graphics card dieing due to triple buffering...... oh wait
nvidia has triple buffering for opengl, OMG they are going to kill all
          our cards :laugh::laugh::laugh:

So thats why you have kid in your nickname

Glad it works out for ya, to be honest im not sure on special forces if your
pc can generate frame rates atleast above 50fps it shouldnt be a problem
i for example tried this on x3 reunion it actually made the stuttering far worse
because the game was chugging along at 30 - 40fps, having the triple buffering enabled the card was trying to keep up to such low frames.

Need for speed most wanted without tb tweak - 20 - 60fps
Need for speed most wanted with tb tweak - 50 - 60fps

          F.E.A.R without tb tweak - 30 - 60fps
F.E.A.R with tb tweak - 45 - 60fps most of the time in the 55fps range

Serious sam 2 without tb tweak - lots of stuttering 30-50fps
Serious sam 2 with tb tweak - no stuttering 55-60fps

I have to have Vsync enabled without tb tweak games are very crap
with vsync disabled alot of tearing and it makes me feel ill

I am not worried about this tool i am getting 88-96 FPS just by using both Warcats 5.13 and the Extreme ATI 1.5.13 drivers bot hare my top pick drivers. I am not getting any studdering or anything issues with either drivers.

            Hey guys !
When you have Vsync enabled, the maximum framerate is gonna be the same with your monitor's refresh rate. Having Vsync on, makes the image look better. It is not that choppy anymore when you move the camera.
The problem is that it can reduce performance quite a lot...
Triple buffering improves performance when you have Vsync on. Right now
every1 has triple buffering set on 3. That's why is called triple. lol
You can set a higher value than 3 but this results in a lag. The higher the value, the higher the lag.
I recommend that, if you want to change the values use the CCC because ATI knows better than Microsoft how things are stored in their video cards.

Thats brilliant, then bugger off and stop telling lies to keep people away
from trying this application, if it doesnt work for them then dont use it
              if it works use it...

              Correct WarAnakin

Now maybe you can see why people loathe it. Let's go back to the original example. You're playing your favorite game at 75Hz refresh and 100FPS. You turn VSync on, and the game limits you to 75FPS. No problem, right? Fixed the tearing issue, it looks better. You get to an area that's particularly graphically intensive, an area that would drop your FPS down to about 60 without VSync. Now your card cannot do the 75FPS it was doing before, and since VSync is on, it has to do the next highest one on the list, which is 37.5FPS. So now your game which was running at 75FPS just halved it's framerate to 37.5 instantly. Whether or not you find 37.5FPS smooth doesn't change the fact that the framerate just cut in half suddenly, which you would notice. This is what people hate about it.

Forgot to mention that if you have an ati card you dont have to use
directx tweaker you can use ati tools i think thats the application
then select game profiles, there should be a way of forcing TB for d3d
through that application aswell... the original idea and setup came from
the developer of directx tweaker but ati tool devs used the idea for ati cards.

Nvidia users got stuffed as nhancer, nvtweak, rivatuner dont have this option only directx tweaker does...

Ive been using directx tweaker for a month and it has made the best gaming experience for me possible

                  Enter your HZ
                  Put in vsync level 1
                  Count to 3

I have a 19 inch CRT and I just got your down loads up and running. Wow........Wow, thats all I can say. If it gets any better I might have to go buy a flack jacket for myself.

Now the only down side I could find, some how when I typed in the info I must of left out something because I dont have my unlocks? The only line I wasnt sure about was arguments I typed in " +menu 1 +fullscreen 1" did I leave something out?

                    And many thanks again. . . . . .Red

Thats this version , havent really tested out that vsync option yet
but apparantly its to force vsync to one level because of some games
turning vsync off especially SLI owners.

Thats what i have in mine, unlocks working perfectly
but it does depend on the server, some have locked it
                        to keep it fair.

Anyway try out 3 instead of 2 in that backbuffer number thing
                        any difference?

i dont understand what the difference is between using this method and just turning vsync and tripple buffering on in your graphics card display settings... is there any?

SgT.UK lol dude you didnt read

Triple buffering in the drivers of ATI & NVIDIA = Opengl Only
There is NO triple buffering for d3d through the driver because of WHQL
restrictions, and also the game has to support triple buffering ie Menu options or ini options.

One problem glaucoma... that version does not work with punkbuster
it will kick you thinking its a hack, because that version uses a hook
rather than the beta versions forcing it
