Wireless mice are not good for gaming compared to Corded mice. Also, USB mice are better than PS/2. I am partial to the MX518 (i have it) and if you can afford like 50 bucks then get it because it is AWESOME. Super sensitive (you can make it more or less sensitive, and very comfortable.

Well like most computer peripherals they depend on how they are used. On average (key words!) they tend to be less sensitive, prone to sticking (if you get out of range of the receiver) and they can run out of batteries. All of these are very bad when you are running from a tank. However truthfully the more expensive the mouse gets then the less apparent these problems are. But for the average gamer they can't spend 80 bucks on a mouse normally and when faced when buying a corded mouse for 30-40 versus buying a cordless mouse for 30-40 the corded one is normally the better option. But if you can afford they are very good most of the time!

I'm running a cheap logitech optical. Gets the job done, but I'd love to have a Diamondback. I've got a Zboard on the way...we'll see how that does.

Believe it or not, I do have premium gear- a Saitek Cyborg Evo. To me, if you even think about flying, this is the joystick to have. It's sturdy, stable, easily customizable for hand size and left/right handed people, has plenty of buttons, and can be held in the lap (how I prefer to fly) very easily.

PS/2 limits to 200Hz, when tweaked.

Corded and wireless USB limits to 125Hz, but you can easily edit usbport.sys to have 250, 500 or even 1000Hz on corded only, look in the 2nd post of this thread on how to, and how it affects the mouse handling.

ok the optimus keyboard is looking great yah...but i read that it was gonna cost almost $300. Honestly, yah its good for more than game...really its great...but i dont think i could ever spend that much on a keyboard. Not to mention a keyboard can get to abused...constantly being used and touched (and pounded)...if i had that keyboard, i'd wear like white gloves with little pillows on the tips. woudlnt be any fun ;P

any of you guys recommend a nice mousepad? im considering getting one to accompany my high-end mouse. I'm currently using a tiny little max payne mousepad that serves me fine but im thinking a nicer one might feel better.

I personally use a Logitech MX-700 and I love it. I know someone with a MX-1000 and I just tried it out recently - a nice upgrade if you got the money

I'm using the MX 518 and the Zboard with the BF2 overlay. I have gotten a lot of improvements with my MX518, but it seems the hardware arround it has something to do with it too. On my laptop I did not get any improovements with the mouse, but on my stationary I got a LOT of improovements and I love it. Since I play mostly sniper this is very important for me. I can higly recomend the MX518. Only had the Zboard for 5 days so still getting used to it. I think afther playing BF2 for 2 weeks on a normal keyboard, it takes quite a while to get used to the Zboard. Eventually I think the keybaord will give me what I want, since the buttons are logically placed.

Amen Brother. It was a little extra than other mouses when i got it, but it was worth it.

Anyone know of any sites selling really good mousepads, the kind that doesn't collect gunk.

I have the MX1000 too on my portable machine. The fact remains that a whirelss mouse/device will never (at least for now) have the same speed and bandwith as a treaded mouse/device. So the MX1000 can't compare to the razorback or the MX518 my friend

still looking for a decent mousepad too dogman. i dont want something thats just ridiculously hard so i can hear my mouse scraping on it or anything. im used to a soft, textured, smooth feel. any recommendations?

That is my mouse, 5 buttons and if you notice the middile button that is a 1600 DPI button, I push that button when I get in a helicopter or a plane, it allows me to move very quicky, good for dogfights. The mouse is very responsive.
