Personally, I cant stand Razer mice. They feel cheap, are too small to my liking, and are short on buttons (had a boomslang and then a viper, wasnt giving that company a 3rd shot). I was using a logitech dual optical until I got my MX518. On the fly DPI adjustment (up to 1600 dpi) and 8 buttons (2 are for dpi adjustment). The dpi adjustment is a big advantage for tanks and apc's. Pop the DPI to max and 6 inches of movement on the mouse will make an abrams turret go 360, turn it back down when running around (I use about 1000 dpi as infantry and 1600 in a tank/apc). Its as solid as any other mouse out there bar none.

They Razer Diamondback has the sens on the fly too and was out way before the MX518, where did you think Logitech got the idea from, they have almost exact same specs, just they just kept their MX510 design.

When it comes down to it is really, as you also point out, how one of the two mice RD and MX518 fits your hand and nothing else. I go with RD, I used the MX300 before as I don't like the way MX500+ is.

          as said above:

I chose the second one, because it fits my hand better, and looks overall better. (these two mice have almost same great sensors, though the Razor is more expensive)

As far as mice go, I don't dig the 1800DPI mice, so I've just got a standard red MX510. As far as a mouse pad though, I can't recommend anything other than the Xtrac Hybrid. It is the best mousepad ever. It's so smooth; apparently it's rubber coated with teflon. If you get the self-lubricating mouse feet with it, there's almost no friction at all. It's not big and bulky, or expensive, and you will not regret buying one. Read the reviews, it's totally worth it.

I hope you MX1000 people have checked out Logigamer, I cant imagine going back to having to reset all my buttons for web and other games.

after finally getting a decent mousepad: http://xoxide.com/flexiglow-x-raider...-pad-blue.html im liking the RD even more. It moves super smooth and the super smooth skates on the bottom just make it flow like butter. highly recommended. i went to best buy today and just put my hand on the mx518 and i really dont like it. whoever said that thing about small movements making you turn your whole wrist is right. the ergonomic design is bs.

for those who own an RD, what are you programming your four buttons to? I have one for primary weapon which is good for fast weapon switches and switching between auto and single shot, then i have squad screen, squad radio (not voip), and spawn screen. Then i have the map bound to the scroll button.
