same thing with the monitor i shouldnt have bought it . i put the plantronics cans back on and i am overcome with nice sound again

im srs those pc350s just sound weak like they dont have enough of the lower tones and there just isnt enough coming to your ears.

wow good thing i get paid pretty good at my job

this is why i dont buy lots of stuff. usually its going to dissappoint you if you already have something like it at your house

EQ is short for graphic equalizer. To be a little more accurate its the levels divided up into their relative frequency groups so for example the bass groups or lower frequencies (20Hz) will generally be the left side of the EQ and the Treble groups will be on the right hand side where the higher frequencies will be (20KHz).

yes. but i see your point. sometimes i make rash impatient purchases that i almost always regret afterward. thats one reason i like actually buying items from a store because most of the time you can return them

no srsly i had both of these hooked up and listened to music and then listened to recorded bf2142 video clips and my plantronics phones if anything have clearer sound, they play the right frequencies that you want to hear then they provide a certain amount of bass that those 'other ones' just cant seem to produce. i goofed with my sound settings a bunch and pretty much no matter what my old headphones that cost about $60 less beat it everywhere. and the funny thing is that i can also hear the outside world easier at the same time which is wierd.

Thats a real shame mate you sure you cant return them? im pretty sure the law states a 14 day return policy on most electrical goods.... or something daft like that

then ANoTHER notable is how these people were telling me how cans that used analog plugs sounded better than cans that used usb connectors because there was ;ess interference on the line or something, and the my plantronics cans use a usb connector...

In general, when they are connected to a good sound card, 3.5mm sounds better than USB.

The USB headset you have will do the sound processing onboard therefore it will bypass the soundcard. Have you tried the technics set with a CD player or any other source besides your PC? Maybes your sound card is part of or the whole of the problem

What's great about the $500+ section is that you have to have ultrasonic hearing to tell the difference between most of them. So they're the best, and now this thread should be over.

Really, my HD555's needed me to tweak my Xonar's EQ before it sounded remotely good. Before, it had no bass what so ever and the high notes were almost non-existent.

The USB headset you have will do the sound processing onboard therefore it will bypass the soundcard.

Which is only really a problem if the onboard sound processing IC has a particularly bad DAC, or the high-pass has bad capacitance resulting in a high cut-off, or if you plan on using software features only offered on high end sound cards.

i actually still have the box for these and i found out the name for them. these are the ones i've had for a while and i like them quite a bit.
