but the whole problem is that they care too much about your head being comfortable there is too much padding and the speakers are too far away from your ears so you dont hear the deeper noises and bass and stuff, maybe it depends on the shape of your head but idk. i think im just going to take some of the padding off but idk
eh honestly i think i should have just bought a soundcard and i would have been good. i dont know how to return these or even if i am able. ugh. idk whatever ill just see what i can do with this
As alex menioned it might be worth playing with the EQ, give them a bit of a 'mid-scoop' to lower the less pleasant frequencies and bring out the bass :)
although some disagree with the therory i find that headphones/speakers take a bit o wear for the cones to really sound their best. My DT770s where a little harsh on mid frequencies when i got them but they have softened off a bit now and the top end has come out a bit. Similar to my speakers, i had 2 tannoy mercury F1 bookshelfs for 2 years and i recently bought a new set (for rear surrounds)which sounded pretty nasty in comparison... still waiting for them to break in.
Basically what im saying is (seeing as you have no choice but to put up with them) give them a few weeks, either you may get a acustomed to the different sound ir the sound itself might actually improve a little bit with wear.

Those things must be fricking massive :o Are they not really heavy with all those drivers and electronics built into the earphones?
Just play with the EQ, I had to before my HD555's sounded good.
EQ? what is that again?
also another odd circumstance is that yes the directional sound is very good and shows distance well but then a bad side effect of that is i explode my eardrums with the sound of my own gun because it is close. i dont feel this works out very well.
