In a Surprising Move EA has recently bought out all of Disney and Half of Canada. EA had this so say in the press release quote " We will be closing down Canada Due to the Publics Lack of Interest and be moving what's left into Disneys Epcot. It'll be one our smaller new attractions with access to amazing visual effects and relistic fun. Should be done by holiday release." EA stock tripled over night and EA says it's next move is WalMart followed by Genocide of all things Green except money.

it's EA's mentality - they see company and peeps with great ideas - and they buy them. It's the only way to go nowadays.....

EA has a reputation of gobbling up companys just to get their intelictual property and dump their talent.

EA has a reputation for milking sucessfull produts dry without providing much content to the fanbase, and as soon as something is not hugely profitiable they scrap it and set fire to the code so noone else can have it.

This will only mean bad things for BF2. But its the nature of video games.

PS. Consoles, I hate you for everything.

I think this is a great idea, except it shows the biggest companies out their are buying the smaller,weaker, companies and that one day their will be like 20 major companies for the planet, which will be called transnationals then about 10 companies which will be metanationals then a final 5 or 6 which will be the official rulers of the world since they own a bunch of third world nations who were looking to have their nations be made better but loosing their resources to the big metanationals and will own the G8 nations of the world; Canada ( ), France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, United Kingdom and the United States, plus the 5 other possible joiners;the People's Republic of China, Mexico, India, Brazil and South Africa. And oh ya including members of the Europian Union will all be owned by these metanational companies.

I have also spoken to Chuck about this and he says not to worry, M$ and Bungie are making Chuck Norris Forever, which will satisfy all those waiting for Duke Nukems final run. Duke makes a spilt apperence in the intro as the first guy to get round house kicked in the jaw....

DICE/EA will most likely develop the next big BF-game and then the team will be disbanded by EA after the game is done and the developers of BF (artist, programmers, designers etc) are spread around in other EA teams for future games. Then the BF-franchise will be kept alive by releasing the "EA-sports" type of sequels with very few new features and updated gfx-engine aimed mostly at "nextgen"-consoles...

Isn't this a common practice in gameindustry when a big company buys a "small" developer and rights to their technology/ip? So most likely, it's bye bye (or adjö) to DICE and Battlefield games as we know them these days...

Whats funny is half of DICE'S Board of Directors are EA people anyway. Wonder how many employees did NOT want to see this happen?
