      Will DICE/EA release a total BF2 package including BF2, BF2SF and Euro Force ?

DICE/EA will most likely develop the next big BF-game and then the team will be disbanded by EA after the game is done and the developers of BF (artist, programmers, designers etc) are spread around in other EA teams for future games. Then the BF-franchise will be kept alive by releasing the "EA-sports" type of sequels with very few new features and updated gfx-engine aimed mostly at "nextgen"-consoles...

Isn't this a common practice in gameindustry when a big company buys a "small" developer and rights to their technology/ip? So most likely, it's bye bye (or adjö) to DICE and Battlefield games as we know them these days...

            This is bad news, really.
How many SUPER smaller companies have put out a GREAT product? One that just blows away the competition within a certain genre? Then, how many of those companies got bought out by EA? Now, subtract how many of those companies are still around? Follow that, by comparing a Title, with pre-EA buyout, versus the same title After-EA-Buyout.......

not a good thing, thats for sure.
            BF3 just got really lame.

Quick Example. (although there are probally about 30 titles we could choose)
Papyrus made not even arguably, the best racing sim on the market bar none. They did so, for 8 years. No one could touch them, not even the mighty EA. So...EA says, hey papy, we are going to buy you out. Pappy devs, said, no....sorry your not. And did not sell. EA dissapointed, but with more money then anyone in the bizniz, said, MMM ok if we cant own you...we'll own NASCAR licensing. So, EA went off, bought all rights to Nascar for a game. And then said, Sorry PAPPY you cant put anything nascar into your game. Pappy quit the bizniz. EA said, COOL now we can put out our really lame, non sim, non fun version of nascar racing out, and with no competition, we will ownzorz!.
Thats just one example, tons more. EA kills good games. I dare you to defy that.

Wow Lame. When I get rich I am going to buy all of EA and sell it back to small developers. But Westwood will get double that because there special.

And how are u going to do that? EA produces so many games + sponsor events + have loads of advertisement = millions of dosh.

I don't like EA.. they are snobs.. they think they're the best produces/developers ever.. like seriously, they also made the worst games.
Eg. Sport games. Its so bs that u see people run straight through overs.. catch balls with their heads etc. Dice are going to lose their manager for sure.

                  Concerning westwood.
I know nothing regarding their finacial status at the time, but strictly from a consumer viewpoint, they appeared to be in a position to rival the likes of EA. They simply made good games. They were gamers making gamer decisions.
Unfortunatly the people making the decisions at EA on titles and content, probally dont even know what BF2 is about, let alone even seen a screenshot.
Another company, although they didnt get bought out, that could of been this huge company is 3dRealms. However we all know (duke nukem forever) how that turned out.
Also, I think EA is slowly eliminating the pc market anyways. Thats what I think. In other words, Here is this super hot game for the console, it rocks. Oh, pc guys, heres your watered down, options eliminated, rushed version.

I have also spoken to Chuck about this and he says not to worry, M$ and Bungie are making Chuck Norris Forever, which will satisfy all those waiting for Duke Nukems final run. Duke makes a spilt apperence in the intro as the first guy to get round house kicked in the jaw....

Alot of DICE employees will leave under the EA regime, there are many blogs of ex EA game devs who left due to general poor running of deadlines, employee management etc.

Re: Death of DICE or uprising of a new empire?

Recognizing these challenges EA proposed to merge DICE into EA’s subsidiary EA Holding. After thorough deliberation and extensive exploration of alternative options, the Board of Directors of DICE has agreed that such a merger is in the best interest of DICE’s shareholders, DICE and its employees. Following completion of the merger EA will be able to share tools and technology with DICE, which will help DICE to navigate console transition as well as transition to next-generation platforms.
That pretty much sums it up.
I doubt highly that this merger will benefit DICE employees. Sure maybe like 10 of them. It "MIGHT" help their shareholders, but only for the first few months. What will be their options when EA says, ok...there is no more DICE. Sorry Shareholders, better sell, why you still see a "dice" tag on the label. Cuz it'll be gone sooner or later.
Console. yeah well, i already posted about consoles. Its the wave. I understand consoles outsell pc stuff. But geezzz.
I SUBMIT that ATI, NVIDIA, INTEL, AMD, pool all their cash and start buying companies, and or start a company that will publish games. Cuz in the end, it might be their companies stock, that go by bye.
                        IANA Publishing.
