Well nothing is done for nothing. Dice can't remain viable as a company, if they give everything for free.

But we paid our money for BF2. If we want to play the expansion, we will pay the cash. But these booster packs are just over-doing it.

I know what you mean. They can destory people lifes because they misuse them. Credit cards don't make you rich, they make you poorer.

Credit cards only do this if you run up debt on them. I just pay for everything I normally buy with my credit card, and then pay the balance in full when the statement arrives at the end of the month. So i effectively get stuff & only have to pay for it later, works for me. These leech-sucking credit companies only make a $ when you spend more than you can afford.

They bring out problems in people as they don't relize how much they have spent on them, then they nail your with the high interest rates which only makes matters worse. It's good that you know how to use them responsibley, but they can run people into debt as they have a "problem". It's hard to understand, but my family (and many others that I know of) have or are going through situations like this.

Americas Army needed funding for its development, just like every game. In this case though the US government paid for it. EA has to give DICE a budget to produce a game, then expects profits on it, not entirely unreasonable. Anyway, they have different objectives in mind, EA's to make profits as I said, and AA to bring in new recruits. So yes, it's a free game, but they used the technology from AA to sell another game, Rise of a Soldier. So you hate them for that? Trying to earn a living?

Lol your right man. I guess these people who are complaining just about hate every business owner. Oh yeah, and to the person who said about halo zero... Well no **** it's free! It didn't take a whole huge team of people with some of the best computers and dev kits and all that stuff. Use your head!

only thing i gotta say, check the stats of servers.. ever since the SF patch came out, the server count has dropped.. im lucky to get 1200 servers, with all filters off, including same version only.. yeah the broswer sucks, but before the SF patch i would pull up on average 5000 servers. i bought SF thinking hey its gotta bring something to BF2.. oh was i right, bugs, lag, mass loading times, and just crappy gameplay in general. i still love the game, but cant justify supporting a product that in any of realm of business, would have failed.

Thanks for destorying my favorite game of the past 5 years, just to make more money.

                        F*** you EA.

I don't care about what all you say like "EA is just out for money with these expansion packs" or "Don't buy the pack until the original game is fixed." The fact is, half of you that claim this already have the expansion pack. Frankly, BF 2 is 70-80% fixed besides these "patching issues'" that people have that have nothing to do with the game "not being fixed". BF 2 is a great game but was getting boring so, solution = NEW CONTENT!!! EA is putting out these Expansions FOR THE DAMN MONEY OBVIOUSLY but also so there products last longer!! If you don't add new content to an aging game people stop playing the game and no more money is made. So everyone that says "EA IS A MONEY WHORE!!" they are but you all love their game and all these expansion packs ARE NESECCARY for the survival of this game.

Okay back on topic, I am looking forward to these packs because new content would be GREAT!

I have around 2500 servers, and that is with the filters "ranked", "same version only", "battlecommo" and "punkbuster" (and of course medium and large map sizes).

I don't need EA's "new content". I can get my own "new free content" through mods. What the community wants is EA to focus on helping the mods more in stead of these "boosters". We'll get more "new content" through the mods anyway - even without EA's help, for that matter. If they want to get a bigger happier community they should help the mods and forget about the boosters.

Has anyone considered how much EA already makes from renting out ranked servers every month? Do they deserve any more of our money considering the support they provide to the community? I think not
