I believe you mean seconds. But ya, in league play, as soon as the timer hits 35 seconds, the CT's run and HIDE. They actually all go hide somewhere hoping the terrorist doesn't find them. These changes will make esports more exciting for everyone.Yea till the last second, cts will defend their bases. And with the money system changing, hopefully, ts will try to win all the rounds, not camping out some of them in order to ruin the other team's funds. So this will be much more interesting. No more "hide'n seek" games. Attacking team will attack, defending team will defend. That's all.

I don't know what has been because I don't feel like reading everything but here I go.
First things first, compeitive CS is the major reason why CS is still raking in sales. People are seeing the amount of money being poured into the game by sponsors and tournaments and are drawn in by that. More and more people are starting to spectate events. The last thing the public wants to see, is 3 minutes wasted by some team camping out to throw off the money count for the ct's. While the competitive side of CS is still making money you can expect VALVe to fix flaws of the game to benefit the competitive aspect.
Flaws you ask? The money system is flawed because counter-strike is supposed to award the team that prevents the other team for acheiving their objective. The money system was originially intended for cs_ maps but with the inclusion of de_ maps, VALVe has not tweaked the money system to the current standards of what it should be. VALVe has been trying to fix flaws as they come. Most everything they have changed has been to try and benefit the game.
Onto the part about shaguar being able to influence VALVe. I can pretty much tell you that shaguar did not totally influence VALVe. VALVe was either:
a) Unaware of the money system flaws (which is highly doubtful).
b) Was already going to make the change but they were waiting.
c) VALVe is doing a publicity stunt to try and come off as if they are listening to the community.
Besides, VALVe said in an interview awhile back that the basis of their suggestions come from the counter-strike.net forums which mainly consists of regular players not involved in the serious competitive side. You guys have had your glory in the past, let the e-sports community have their one thing =).Comment

goodjob stating whats already been said. try reading the comments before you put your own in. as for those options about VALVe being influenced, a) uhm, obviously they didn't know about it, or else they'd have fixed it? b) what reason would they have to wait... c) a publicity stunt? you have got to be kidding me. They did it because it would greatly help to increase the amount of potential customers they have.

#93
I had already said in my comments that it would help with the sales end so I did not feel the need to repeat myself. Also I said as #3 that I had a whole thing written out but I got deleted on the computer I was on so I felt the need to write something similiar to what I had before.Comment

Uh, where did I say that? My point was that CS isn't really realistic at all and people are saying it is to try and cover for changes that aren't particulary useful for the casual player.
And what do you propose? Having all weapons inflict the same amount of damage? Oh, you're good.
Please don't try to twist my words around.Comment

These are good changes for wars on bombmaps.. But what happens on hostagemaps? Do the CTs get more money there aswell now when they let the time run out? That would suck imho, even if it's only on pubs.. Lets hope they thought about that..
Ts should lose on bombmaps if they didn't plant the bomb or killed all CTs, and on hostagemaps the CTs should lose if they didn't rescue the hostages or killed all Ts.. Moneywise that is..
Then they will combine all the good of CO and MR together..Comment

Laffin, "1v5 in a clanmatch and when the T plants the bomb..." laffin, show me a demo of a clanmatch with 1 t vs 5 ct and him planting the bomb, no matter how much time is left, good luck
here's my solution: make a jury and give stylepoints in matches, you laugh eh, well I'm serious, why not
I would not call the moneysystem a 'flaw' btw, if clans go camp because they are hungry for money (CPL prizemoney that is) and have no personal sense of style or selfrespect that's not a flaw in CSComment

Well the whole point of this is because of the flaws in the de_ system. I don't think they'd make a new flaw in the cs_ system. It will be different for each type of map.

They need to kinda make CTs get less money on hostage maps. When a CT rescues all the hostages, he'll make over $10,000. The rest of the team gets like $8,000. That means if CT win the first round, every CT gets over $8,000 and the main CT gets $10,000. Thats SECOND ROUND.

Ya, that's exactly why they don't use cs_ maps for league play. Your right, if you win pistol round by getting the hostages, you get over $10,000! For second round! Something needs to be fixed there. The T's are at a severe disadvantage.Comment

Didn't read what was said before bar the first page and I agree with those who point out how well written it is. Read it again. Read half these posts and there is your answer why Valve peeked out from behind the door and took notice of what he said.
I think it's gonna be a change for the good. And who cares if the bomb is planted within one second off the round time ending when it takes only 10-20 sec's to defuse the bomb =)Comment
