This is most likley a coverup because H2 will not be released by jan so valve thought the better make some BS. Then they can say ohh H2 will not be released by jan because of this leak.. Then they just stall for more time... By that time people will be playing DOOM 3 :) .. also a multi million dollar company and they use zone alarm for a firewall :P maybe they need to look at better security.

Valve isn't stupid enough to purposely let their source code, which contains months of development, slip out on purpose, allowing programmers and hack developers to see how the HL2 engine works, just because they need a little more time.
