And to people that say give it time a few days ...
I have a few points about this .......now i have spent a lot of time with remote deployment over very large networks through wan and lan ...altiris/ghost/ads/.net etc etc ......and one thing is for sure bandwidth is always the first bridge to cross....now if we are having problems now with only about half the cs playes and dod guys trying to steam power their rig's up .....what is it going to be like every time updates are released or new titles like hl2 come out, does it mean a week of flatlining cause steam cant cope with the bandwidth...will people who pay get first crack, with us not so stupid people always being at the back of the que ?..
And while all this updating and new installs are going on ,what we are seeing is crippling of the game servers, and people are getting a ton of errors because their install has the odd bit of dud or missing code cause of having to retrying so many times and prievously failed installs ....
Steam is a great idea and worked well during the beta , but i always thought it's setup would be it's a weak point (more like gaping wound)..I already have gave it 3 days and it is still as bad as day 1...How long should we give it then ?
