BitTorrent. Close steam and update with BitTorrent instead.



I'm going to keep posting about BitTorrent until people realize how much faster it will make things. It will only work, however, if people close down steam while they download from BitTorrent, so that the stress on the content servers is reduced. If only people would do this... things would be better off for the whole community.

Cs was working fine yesterday.. Today it asked me to log in again, and it screwed up and all my games are locked again.. yay..

BitTorrent will be faster as more people use it for these files, because the basis of the program is that people upload at the same time they download and help to transfer the file to more people.



As far as the http/ftp server being faster... I'd generally agree but I doubt that they are much faster for a release such as this.

How do I use custom content in Counter-Strike?



You can drop in custom files, like the CS fusion pack, into your Steam/SteamApps/your_email_address/Counter-Strike/ directory. Steam will use the cusomized files on disk instead of the ones in the Steam cache file.
