Steam is a MASSIVE let down. For a good idea it has turned out to be a pile of rubbish imo. It crashes countless times, it stalls, it hangs, it is NOT user friendly, and it uses too much b/w. One of THE biggest things missing I feel, is the ability to select what content server you want to deal with...I live in australia, we have a content server (ausgamers.com) but does steam use that server? NO. It is probably being used by people on the otherside of the world. Not happy valve. Not happy at all. Secondly... LAN..How the feck are you meant to play cs 1.6 over lan with steam? Um what was that? Lan has no internet, oh ok back to 1.5 then...
Thirdly - Why are you going backwards valve? Removing the bots? Huh? I thought you were meant to include new things in updates and fix problems, not just remove things from it and create further hassle and timewasting rubbish software that doesn't work...
Congradulations, I can't *WAIT* till WON is gone and we ALL have to deal with steam, it is going to be SO much FUN!!!!

When I hold the mouse over those steam windows my 5900 fans start to squeal, quite loudly. Seriously. I think valve are now attempting to wipe out all existing Nvidia hardware.
My updating CS timeleft counter is beginning to count upwards. w00t :/Comment

wow, 4 times I have tried to play 1.6 (after of course it crashed a couple of times when updateing, but hey its steam and I have grown to expect that)
Each time I start connecting to a server, it goes from saying 60 ping, to 2000 ping, then crashes. I close it and hey, find that steam not only screwed itself over, but has downed my DSL connection, so i wander over to router and reset it. What a great game :)
I really hate valve, cash in on a perfectly good game and screw it up. To the people who like steam, sure its good. When it works, which for some people is always, but for alot is barely everComment

STEAM CRASHES EVERY TIME I CLICK GAMES.
Maybe valve are to friggin stupid to realise the reason why people love Half Life and modify it so much; Easy of use.
Not anymore, now I have to open up a lame ass program - goto games - then select my modification - then goto ser....

Preparing to play counter-strike... is all I get. Never gets any further than that. Wonder what's wrong :/
Edit. No cpu usage, no activity on the network. Program hasn't stalled either. Anyone else having a similar problem?Comment

Dude, You are just pissed that you have to go into a program cuz some of your hacks only work through their own little exe program. I'm so sick of Vac not bein' able to detect most hacks out ...
