Wohooo opened steam.... Opened cs 1.6...... but couldn't join a server... I got hanged at the screen "Validating games resources..."

Anyone got the same problem??!

that happened in beta too. u just gotta wait a little and that screen will pass.

I'm having a really..really REALLY FUCKING ANNOYING PROBLEM WITH STEAM, other than the fact that it exists, anyways, let's see, I downloaded the Steam with the 1.6 files, and installed it..(I think) Then, I put I created my account (I made a new one just for the hell of it) and my password, clicked "Login" and I get..this little gem of an error..

"Could not connect to Steam network.

Either the Steam network is currently not running, or your internet connection is down.

Please check your internet conncetion and try again."



Whew, okay, now that I copied all of that, I think I already know the problem, and I'm hoping to God I'm wrong, but I'm thinking it's my firewall from my Goddamned router, now, I had my router for a while, and the Steam Beta worked peachy keen (Or as close to it as Steam'll ever get) and now this..can someone please help?



Disregarde this, I just checked the support page on Steam, and lo and behold, VALVe came through, and sadly, I was right..well, seeing as I can't config my router anymore..I'll just go cry in a corner now..

oh well....i was gonna say maybe the network was just down i have a strict router too but i got that waited awhile and tried again...keep trying dont diss steam its hard to get going but its allotta fun yoou can chat with ppl find their servers play checkers and chess and hearts with them and its like an aim buddy list inside the game...and if you dont have aim...your retarded
