What the hell is with the xml news feed? if your gonna have a xml news feed perhaps it would be a good idea to use the rss standard, then n00b php programmers can still get away with cut 'n pasting code from php scripting sites :P

I just want the old walk back. This new walk almost takes stealth out of the game. The damn footsteps kick in way too easy and the walk is too damn slow. As for the jumping... I think something needed to be done but slowing you down every time you jump is overkill. Im not sure there is a good way to stop the hoppers, so they should have just let it alone. Also, the headshots are just out of hand... frags are so quick and easy to get now. But, most of the people I talk to on game servers seem to hate the new walk and the headshots the most. Most people I have asked, say they don't mind the jumping that much.

If they were going for realism with the jumping, then they went the opposite direction with walking. First of all, running all the time is not realistic. But walking is realistic. However, after adding footsteps to it and slowing it down dramatically, walking:

a)becomes useless

b)is not realistic

c)and, most importantly, is not fun.



btw, I love the new CS...

I think tweaking the jump such that it will slow down after 2-4 jumps would improve the game, but otherwise, I can live with 1.4......

I just played a game, and I went 25-18.

I had 17 headshot deaths.



It was INSANE, I took screenshots of 11 out of 12 kills in a round being HS. And these were FULL-AUTO AK kills. Frankly the jumping is fine. The walking is annoying, but I could adjust. The FPS loss and Ping increase (although irritating) is something I an deal with. But God its like, pick up an AK and open fire. You'll headshot someone somewhere.

Those of you that think its not realism: I tell you this, when your life is on the line.... Your not going to be thinking about what you were trained.. Your going to think "how can I avoid getting shot" and any person, CT or not will dive out of the way of a bullet in an attempt to not get shot (unless he's slow-witted)

The kind of jumping done in CS has nothing to do with diving out of the way of a bullet, if there were a dive feature that would be a different story. However hopping up and down is just so completely fake.



I say take away the ability to shoot while jumping, no one with any weapons training would be firing while jumping, it's actually completly ridiculous.

Personally, I'd be firing no matter what I saw doing. You must admit, whether for good or bad, this game is rapidly becoming a Rogue Spear rip off.



And dont try and tell me anything about CS is realistic, short of the gun names. (non-retail)

Rizzuh, stop forcing your opinion on the 58+ % of CS players who hate the lag-jump in 1.4.



A split in the community would be a great thing. I would love to be rid of all low-skill players. They can play with your fellow lovers of newb-strike 1.4 and have fun accusing every skilled player of exploiting, hacking, or jumping. Oooh, evil jumpers.......lol

Rizzuh.. I can appreciate the stress and frustration that recent cs-related events must have had on you. After all, you were and still are incredibly close to the cs development team itself. However, as much as I respect your opinions I would like you to be just a tiny bit more objective (yes, subjectivity is very apparent in your writing relating to the issue dating back to far belong 1.4 was actually relased -- Ksharp interview anyone?) and recognise that an extremely large percentage of the community across the spectrum of skill levels hate one or two of the modifications made to 1.4 very passionately.



I am not complaining about 1.4 because I don't play as well with it.. in fact.. I actually play better with the modifications as it eliminates some of the bad habits I used to have.. I dislike 1.4 because I don't think it's as much fun (and that is basically why I play cs in the end--well, played)



To everyone, please stop calling everyone newbies/whatever. You just sound like idiots and it's extremely unproductive. Please express your opinions with some civility.. I know it's a pretty contravertial subject, but that doesn't mean you have to go around flaming everyone

You can all have fun playing a game where jumping is supposed to be a goddamn tactic.. crouch-jumping and jumping in general make me sick and were FLAWS in 1.3 to begin with, .. Half are noobs cause they like it, the other half.. Noobs cause they dont like it.. so who cares about being called a n00b.. if you've played since at LEAST 1.1 than you're not a noob in any form.. you've been through a lot :). I do understand where the jumpers are coming from these days, but still.. I'de like to see some sort of happy-medium if we could.
