How about some AS maps.. I mean they are an OFFICIAL style of gameplay.
So far we have 2, yes 2 maps. We need more.
More VIP maps, get rid of the overplayed DM
I'm with him on this one. How exactly does CS credibly state it's a played format when it isn't. I love oilrig and tundra but there is no new content except for a seemingly neverending number of DE maps.

As for siege, i love siege, as either side, to me it offers something new, ok for clan games its pointless but on public where teamwork is a bit low i love going cts and relish the challenge.

i still cant understand how survivor was let in the official release.....its BY FAR the most ridiculos peice a shit cs has ever seen as an "official" map.the layout is arch-unrealistic,the sotry is pointless and it just looks dumb
I'll never quite understand the hatred of de_survivor. In my opinion it is one of the most original maps that made it official. First off, it was a snow setting. It wasn't run of the mill villa or city. Secondly, the architecture was stunning. The area where the plane is down is brilliant. There are many different levels of terrain surrounding that plane and yet it was done in an orginal way. The lighting is fine. The bridge choke point is adequate. The quality of mapping is second to none.
The fact is that there are only a couple of maps that are actually played less than non official maps. De_survivor, while the least popular of the official maps, is still played more than any non official map.
Regardles, it's not as if the server admins have no control over what maps get put into or taken out of their rotation.Comment

First of all, I disagree that the only way you can effect a change is to complain about it. You can also try to get involved in some way and do some work instead of sitting back and having other people work to satisfy your desires. And as for mapping, I'm not saying that every map that's produced, regardless of quality should be included. You've gotta try your hand at mapping in order to ever produce anything good. Say you produce a map and it sux. OK, big deal, nobody's forced to use it. But if you make the effort and produce something good, something that could benefit the community, then that would be worth the effort.
Plenty of people have all the right in the world to complain, especially those who've been around since early betas. The only real way that we have to try and change something IS to complain.
Do some mapping our own? Where in the fuck have you been? How many times have substandard maps been included simply because they're made by a "known" mapper like barney or davej when there were a shitload of better maps out there? We don't NEED to do mapping of our own, we need someone with a clue to include EXISTING maps that don't suck ass.
Besides, you're saying that we need people to make better decisions about what maps are included in CS releases. So why don't you make an effort to become part of that process instead of just criticizing it?! Instead of saying "someone should do this job," why don't you do the job? considering your criticisms you indicate that you've got good taste in maps.Comment

What exactly did cliffe do to make CS? I thought cliffe was like the look of milli vanilli and gooseman was the original singer, they did jack and the singers did the stuff. I joined in 1.1 so cliffe had already stopped doing ANYTHING relating to CS, what did he do in the beta days?Comment

De_Volare is a great example of just how far cs-mapping has gotten since the early beta days.
Beautiful lighting and textures, easy layout, nice details (i.e. CTs parachutes from a Hercules C130 plane) and the ambience of the map is stunning.

Maps with this level of quality would be nice to see in future CS updates.Comment
