I know what the warning /!\ symbol means in front of the servers! At least I think I do. If you take a peek at the Filters menu (in-game menus, not the Tracker) you'll see that there is now an option for "servers that are running anti-cheat software" if you check that, the >!< servers go away, so, my deduction is that this means that those servers are "dangerous" er, um... open to the dangers of cheaters. This is just my best guess.
Anyone else getting damaged cache's more often when using the Tracker to join games?Comment

Your account name HAS to be an email address, then the key generator will give you a valid key.Comment

1.4 seems to be about the same so far, as 1.3. (minus the lag) The biggest difference for me is to be able to see from a first person viewpoint. (very nice) Its amazing to see how people play. The jumping thing is about the same as before only this time, you start to really notice a slow down after 3 or so jumps. I thought that I wouldnt be able to jump up at ALL after 2 jumps, but you can jump all you want, it's just that when you do your forward momentum begins to slow down after 2-3 jumps. So as far as getting onto crates etc, nop prob... I'm sure the lag issue will go away when this thing goes final. I haven't tried all the weapons yet but they seem to be in line with before, with maybe some power and recoil control diiferences. The UMP seems to be a bit better. (go figure) Also the useless semi sniper weapons seem to be a bit better as well. Also remember you cant play 1.3 while you have 1.4

Of course it will. Jesus christ this is a beta of a delivery product (Steam).
The REAL, FINAL CS 1.4 WILL NOT BE CONTAINED WITHIN STEAM.
It'll be a separate download and work exactly like CS 1.3 does now. Install to your HL dir and you're set.
Right now, the beta was designed to be quickly updated for broadband users. Hence, Steam. Its a fast autoupdater, essentially.Comment

Um... Huh? I haven't found this to be true. I've been able to play both with only a few oddities that seem to have popped up with my 1.3... nothing at all crippling, just weird.
And let me say that after playing 1.4 for a little while, I went into a 1.3 server and felt like I was absolutely FLYING. 1.4 is definitely slower, not only re: the jumping but flat out movement as well, I believe. It actually seemed to improve my 1.3 game to have played 1.4 for a bit. Kinda like shooting hoops with one of those "narrow" practice rims then going to the standard size one...Comment

What advantage does this beta offer over not having it?
Can people without the beta still play CS on all the main servers?
Does this Beta only include the Steam update, or does it include CS 1.4 stuff as well? If this is the case, will CS 1.3 people who don't have broadband so don't get beta still be able to bunny hop?
I'm all confused. I know I aint getting it cause I'm a 56ker, so what am I losing out?
And also what is this CSNation Beta Testing thing? I haven't seen any news items asking people to Beta Test for CSNation, and the only filter I got on is stopping skin and model news appearing - when did this appear and where?Comment
