I'm banning you from CSN.
Who has access to ban someone on CS-Nation?
LuftWaffle wrote..Dude there are fucking loads of gun related murders and crime in your country and you compare that to Europe and in Particular England, you find that the incidence of gun related crime is extremely small. Particularly so that the innocent civilian in the streeet will have most likely never seen a gun in their life...
Yes, take ALL the guns, that's the solution. If one guy can kill someone with a rifle, ANYONE CAN! But... wait a minute. Lots of people have guns. Why aren't there lots of shootings? "But LuftWaffle, there are lots of shootings! It's in the NEWS!" The NEWS is sensationalist.

Last week NBC news had a story on how violent videogames were a cathartic activity for relieving stress. I guess not anymore. To quote Marshall Mathers, These games are only "sick as the mother f**kin' kid its behind." Maybe people should look at it that way, instead of blaming everything/one else for their problems.
I'm sure it desensitizes us somewhat, but for the majority of us, we are stable people and can rationalize the difference between videogame fantasy and cold blood killing.Uh-huh. And by what criteria do you consider yourself "stable"? There are plenty of people branded as "unstable" who haven't gone on rampages. Oh, and good luck finding a way to quantify "stability". Is "stability" just whatever the current majority is, or does it have a universal definition? What the hell am i asking a nimrod like you for?
orphy wrote..Who knows. Maybe we'll finally figure out if games ARE to blame or not by attaching a rock to a HL CD and throwing it in a river. If it sinks, it's satan!
Apparently people need an explaination, and they want one that blames it on things that are entertaining.
-:Nighthawk:- wrote..Yeah, well, i can't understand the mind of someone who likes to listen to Andrew WK. Morality, morality, morality. What, exactly, makes you think that your "morality" is any more concrete than the people trying to blame games? I'm sure that less people would cross that line if anyone could actually figure out where the fuck it was.
To be honest, there's two mindsets going on here that I cannot understand. One is that of the killer. I cannot honestly understand the mind of someone who is willing to kill random, innocent people. It doesn't make any sense, as that's a line of morality that you just don't ever cross.
The other is the mindset of someone willing to mislead others into blaming a convenient target for something they cannot understand. And it seems, more and more, CS has become the newest scapegoat, taking over where Doom left off, and so many others before it, as KhAoS pointed out.Why not? It's got everyone else here frothing over it, doesn't it?
GambleSalmon wrote..What an end-all-be-all excuse. It just fixes everything right up, doesn't it? It worked for the LA riots, skinhead beatings, and spousal abuse, so why not for you too?
Rahan, thank you for your comment. I was overreacting out of rage.

well to be honest the first thing i thought about was some kid and cs. really. i think that some kids get to caught up with games and it can affect their lives, they do poorly in school, with family relations, and turn to video games as an escape. yeah maybe this could be related to a video game in some kind of minute way, but then cant we blame the media as well for their violent offerings nearly every evening?
