According to the most recent information on the subject, with Steam 2.0, it will no longer be using a single cache file for everything like the earlier Steam betas did, but rather it will look like a normal CS installation.



As such, custom models will be allowed just like normal. Some of your custom sprites might possibly get ignored though (if you use them), if they've changed the explosion effects as much as they claim to have for the 1.6 release.



The "batton" idea almost made me laugh, and probably would have had the humor been brought out, instead of comming across like an idiot trying to trick people. I'm imagining that, had the comment been made a week ago, someone would have submitted "sv_rodneykingmode" in the last mailbag as a new server-side variable.

It doesn't overwrite your cstrike folder right? I'm asking to see if I can still run 1.5 after the Steam installation; I don't want to have to miss any of my 1337 cal-o matches =P

Nope, it doesn't. it uses its own steam folder that takes up a shitload of space. You will still be able to run 1.5 fine!

OOOh yeah, the one where you get so fucking bombed on PCP and Christ knows what else that you can't feel a ten-thousand volt charge or baton whacks from several policemen, and keep trying to get up, and keep getting knocked down, because you're a fucking useless stoner and you're fucking stupid.



And then you get up the next morning and whine about it to the press. I hate Rodney King's guts.



On that note, I don't really care that 1.6b wasn't released, and Nighthawk is one of maybe four intelligent sounding people on these boards.
