If you cannot access features of the PlayStation Network on May 24 starting at 9:30PM (PT), don't panic. Sony will have the service down for a bit for some routine maintenance.
The service is expected to return around 11:30PM (PT), or roughly two hours after the maintenance begins. The Service Status page for PSN says that users will be unable to access account management, the PlayStation Store, and PlayStation Video. You should be able to play games and most applications without issue during that time.
