Sony Announces 18.5 Million PlayStation 4 Systems Sold Worldwide

Yesterday, Sony revealed that due to 4.1 million PlayStation 4's being sold this Holiday season, their total number of sales of the system have surpassed 18.5 million. That figure is sold to consumers and not merely the number of units shipped to retailers.

On top of that, Sony also revealed that there are 10.9 million people subscribed to PlayStation Plus as of January 2. It was not made clear as to whether or not that figure includes PS+ subscribers on the PlayStation 3 and Vita in addition to the PlayStation 4 or just the PlayStation 4 subscribers. There are also some reports that the total number of software units sold is over 81 million, which reportedly includes digital sales.
