One more reason not to buy this repetitive, over hyped shooter. Hopefully IW will realise there mistake and rectify it.

To be honest if the PC version of MW2 flops what are the chances will play the pirate card and try and blame it on that?

Man you crazy. CoD MW is one of the best sp experiences you can have. MW2 will be even more awesome I`m sure of that.
No dedi servers is a small setback but matchmaking ain`t that bad. Plus, goddamn riotshields man. Can`t wait to d*ck around with those.

MW SP is terribad. Overscipted crap.

No dedicated servers = no mods, no 30 player servers, no customized servers.

Matchmaking can easily be thrown in as an option.

Never liked MW mods and big servers.
I also like games that give me a railshooter experience so SP was just right for me.
Guess I`m one of the few ones lol.

This and L4D2 will be da shiz.

I haven't read through the hundreds of posts on this thread but I don't mind MW2 being on Steam, in recent times I've found Steam very good, I'm not even too bothered about mod tools, all I want is dedicated servers. Is it too much to ask?! It could be just like playing a game of CS:S if IW included dedicated servers. I don't care if there experienced, I have a 360 and PS3 and I NEVER play them online as the number of idiots, kids etc playing online ruins the game. I'm not saying PC gamers are great but they do seem to be alot more mature and sensible rather then little kids thinking they know everything on GoW or CoD4. Get a grip Infinity Ward!

Re: Bashandslash Twitter/Webcast Confirms Changes for PC

I'm sorry but for those that refuse to see it this is exactly what it seems. All the talk of "wait and see", "we don't even know yet", "it's about gameplay" are completely wrong. This is what is seems; crappy matchmaking with limited to no control over smacktards that will show up with their new shiny hax VAC hasn't caught yet. No clan servers but I'm sure you can have a crappy Steam club set up. Not exactly the same is it?

If you want to know what will happen to this game, go look into what happened with Medal of Honor Airborne. Same crap as this and by the time they "fixed" it and added dedicated servers it was too little too late. If you get this for PC, realize it's a single player only game.

ThQp you should download the free online FPS game "Warrock", and play online for a bit. After you do (assuming you haven't smashed your monitor in rage), come back here and tell us how anything other than dedicated servers will be just fine!

Yeah, Warrock is about BF2 age, and BF2's server browser was really something impressive (sarcasm).

                      ?????

Talking about how the servers are run, not the way they're found, brah.
Besides, I've never had any problems with BF2's server browser. If you have... sux2bu LoL.

Smart, witty and maybe even funny. BF2's server browser is (was, haven't really played a lot in 1.5) horrible and admins had silly rules and kicked/banned for silly reasons. I only used connected through IPs and mostly stuck to a couple of clan servers (like LMS or NBK). BF2 is in no way the model for dedicated servers, COD4 was a way better model. Love the pings displayed between 0 and 999999 or clicking on what you think is a good ping server turns out to be a 200+ and a 300+ turn out to be a nice 29 ping server and the only reason I found that was because is said WEST and the area of the state I live.

When did I say BF2 was a good model? You're the one that brought up BF2. I was just telling ThQp to go play Warrock so that he knows just how awful listen servers really are.

Warrock is a bad example of anything relating to today and one of the main reasons is a lack of support because of its FREE model. BF2 is a bad example, cause we PAID for it and still got it shoved up our poop holes from EA/DICE. IW is taking a working backbone infrastructure and building on it and investing in it, heavily. I have yet to hear legitimate arguments against matchmaking from people with experience (either from consoles or games like GTAIV or Red Faction Guerrilla).
