Special Forces would be unlikely, as that brings alot more to the game than the boosters. But Warlord is Normal BF2's Karkand. People would play Great Wall for the niche of it being the Great wall of China, and quite frankly, Operation Road Rage is kick ***.

There are some silly people in here, who are talking about things that aren't relevant to what could be included in the patch, such as the BF3 discussion.

I wonder if the patch will be out before or after Heroes, because Heroes is due for release in late summer, which i'd say is July/August. This has been announced a week ago, so give it another couple of weeks for the release?
I really wish they would do that. The people who payed for them got semi screwed because there are only a handful of people playing those maps and have the boosters. So while they can sit and look at those great maps and such, it sucks to actually find a game to play them. Giving all the boosters now would be a really nice thing to do. SF would be a bit more of a stretch but again, a nice thing to do. However, Dice has NEVER done this in the past (R2R and SW for 1942) so I won't hold my breath.

As a modder, my main concern is what features will it give/take away and will the patch break current mods.

That was silly as all hell. You remind me of this guy i knew who announced hockey games at his home PC, only repeating what the actual announcer had already said. Negative 5 million points for lameness.:shakehead:

I really don't think that references to COD4 are a bad thing, I mean its what alot of you wanted in terms of Karkand like game play without vehicles and I'm sure they took a lot of ques from BF2. That's what COD4 does well, what BF2 did was bring it to the big battlefield (hence the name), I'm just saying COD4 borrowed from BF2, now BF2 can borrow a bit from COD4. Plus I think a hardcore mode would add to the experience, team play, because it would make things a lot harder.

I can wait till BF3, the graphics and hick-ups from the BF2 engine get to me after a while.

No nothing wrong at all mang. Its just each game that was made, was made in a unique way. Why have 2 games with the same stuff? It would be silly 2 have a "loud desert eagle" in BF2. In COD4, there isnt a whole lot of stealth attached to the sniper kit, besides the somewhat convincing ghille. So running around blazing the deagle makes perfect sense. The rifles are loud as hell. In BF2 its actually big enough to sneak around in, and a desert eagle would just ruin that for you. Although yes, damn i admit the deagle would be much more handy than the pea shooter you are provided.

And i dunno, Bf2 is pretty hardcore from a perspective. That perspective being the victim. Seems i go down very quick(no you damn pervs, dying):shakehead: especially in Karkand. Nade to the face=death, nade to the nuts=death, nade to my big toe=death.:dead: G36e to the chin=:dead:

My point really was each game has its points, and if ya want a deagle, hardcore mode, or super graphics, go play cod4.

I pretty much agree with you, but a bigger concern to me is the buggy hit boxes. Just imagine it: you shoot at the enemy and he actually dies! Miracle!

Can't wait to see what the patch has to offer.

I too hope they add the booster pack maps, weapons, vehicles etc into BF2, the game will then sell like hotcakes again.

Re: Official Battlefield 2 Patch Announcement

other than adding new maps/vehicles/weapons i think that the main issue that needs to be addressed is the poor hit regestration. i am so tired of getting killed because my shots only get dust and no damage. so many times i've come up behind people with a knife and struck without warning just to see dust and watch the body jerk (as a response to the hit) BUT NO KILL OR DAMAGE .... or the hit boxes that lag behind the player as they move...... it makes leading a moving target a waste of time and effort. most other shooters dont have these problems why is it so hard for E.A. to fix it in bf2 ????
and i agree about the buggy hit box ... holy sheite does that just blow ... it would be so nice to kill a buggy thats about to run you over with a missle istead of being squashed because the missle went right through it..........

FIX THE PROBLEMS BEFORE YOU MAKE IT LOOK PRETTY

and how about trying to kill some of the streaming hack sites or make the game shutdown permenatly if you try to hack, change files or add anything thats not supposed to be there seeing as punkbuster seems to be a waste of ...... everything.

They advertise "includes free" on the box. You are buying Battlefield 2 with "free" addons. Trust me it is possible for EA to give the boosters away for free without public backlash and they hae already done so with other titles, as have Redstorm Entertainment, MicroProse and Codemasters. So they are in a position to do this and it would be a wise move to make to revitilise the title, but remains to be seen if they will or not.

This reminds me of an old joke.

"How do you keep an idiot in suspense?"
                              "How?"
