Just please god get rid of the ability to bunny hop. Seriously! Im not looking for Project Reality style realism, but thats ridiculous to be able to hop around to dodge bullets... ESPECIALLY IN FULL BATTLE RATTLE

Really all i can see the new patch being consisting of new content i.e. atleast one map and maybe a couple of vehicles for that map. Realisticly i dont think that anything will be essentially changed like the hitboxes and what not.
If they wanted to do this they would have done when it was a more popular game where there was alot more demmand for it.
To me it just seems like it is to get people interested in the battlefield titles on PC, which i think are going to be Battlefield Heroes and Battlefield 3, just so that everyone feels the need to play Battlefield and then be interested on the other titles.
Which basically shows that EA are a bunch of money grabbing fools.

I can't believe I read this entire thing.... I'm that much closer to the end of my life.

I really hope that nothing is done to the F35B and J10. Whenever I fly a jet I choose the F35. If I'm on china I land the J10 under the carrier and wait for the F35 to spawn (usually). The last thing I want is to be totally bored in the air because the J10 losses it's only advantage. I wanna tear the sh¡t out of J10s and have it be a testament to my skill as opposed to a testament to whining.

One fix that is desperately needed is a vehicles search filter. There are maybe 2 Karkand servers that have vehicles and it would be nice if I could find them. IO Karkand may as well be grenades only and I for one don't like using nades.

I'm sure this would not happen, but I'd like to put it out there: Please don't mess with my DPV in any way (unless you wanna make it faster).

OT, but why do you land the jet rather than just bailing out over the carrier?

They've probably got some fixed-time contract programmers available since having finished Bad Company, and they're going to throw those guys onto a new patch and some new levels, that's all.

It'll take months. Meanwhile, they just hype it to keep down the bleed of people leaving BF2 for other experiences.

Look at their own advice to us - buy a console and play Bad Company until the patch comes out. If that's not an admission of a stale game lacking in new content, I don't know what is.

Maybe we get something before Christmas, maybe not. ::yawn::

BF Heroes comes delayed (was announced for June/July)
BF3 will come out later.
The patch announcement will keep us playing BF2 until the patch comes out.
The patch (and BFH maybe) will keep us playing until BF3 comes out.
EA tries to build a bridge from BF2 to BF3.
The larger the distance the later the patch/BFH.

So, change the game again? All that will cause is more people to complain about how they liked it the way it was.

I very much doubt they'll change anything. All they will do is fix crashes and maybe add content.

Hmm, new content? I'm skeptical.

Perhaps they're patching the game to fix the problems which developed earlier this year with the hacking of the player accounts? Did you guys forget about the connection issues a few months back? Remember the constant disconnects from the Master Server?

I don't think that problem is really fixed right now, it's just got a bandage on it. I have a feeling that GameSpy found some issues which need to be resolved... But, what do I know? Nothing.

I'd love to see some new content, but I'd rather see a new game.

Nah, they'll add new maps, i'm fairly sure. They did it to 2142, so i suspect the same will happen to BF2.

By the time this comes out, BF2 will be 3.5 years old. Surprised to see EA wants to support (and I mean that loosely) a game that's fairly old. Time is much better spent developing BF3, but that would be too logical...

DICE have 250 employees. Not all of them can work on BF3.

They have a team for BF2, BF:H, BF:BC and BF3. I suspect this patch is aimed to tide people over until BF3 is ready. I'm pretty sure it's still in alpha atm
