    INSTALLATION:

    * Download the file below
    * Unzip all files into your main Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare™ folder, default is C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare, overwriting as necessary

    NOTE:

    An automatic installer for this patch is coming soon.

      If you get an error, it's because you're running the .exe and not copying it into your CoD4 folder. I figured since only the .exe was in the .zip, then it was the installer.

          yep,

          you just replace the original iw3mp.exe file with the one in the .zip file, i wish other games were this simple and small..

                  the favourited servers still apply to the Filters that have been selected,

                  ie if you have empty not showing and the faourited server is empty it wont show etc,,

                    so doing this wont screw up my game if i have it on steam? Or when steam tries to d/l the update will it coincide and screw things over, i wouldnt be so impatient if i could get my stats to work or more than only one server.

                        YOU HAVE GOT TO BE ****TING ME!!! I switched out the files and now it gives me a DirectX error popup.... wth!

                        I've been pissed at this game since finding the server files were over 6gigs and now this... LAME!! :evil::shakehead

                        anyone care to tell me how in the hell to fix that? I've already added both the dx9 and dx10 dll files that either or were needed.

                            I put the old file back on the server and I still get that Direct X Unrecoverable error.... I'll be damned if I upload that whole directory again.

                              Just backup files in game directory that match the files in the zip incase they screw up your game. I mean its been common practice since way back in the day before auto updaters, when patches use to have a chance of screwing up your game. Well established protocol for well over a decade now almost two, you've all been spoiled by auto updaters.
