Re: Project Reality New Procedure For Server Code

You're wrong, i do have interest in your mod, i would love to play it. I want the realism you offer in damage modeling and game physics. But certain aspects are just to much. In particular long spawn times, and heavy weapon restrictions. That makes it unplayable for me. I think theres a large amount of players looking for the same thing, you cant blame us for wanting it.

Unfortunately no one wants to make that game, and apperantly its a no no to ssm it aswell....

edit:The main reason there is an SSM problem in the realism mods is because there is a middle ground niche' that is not being accomodated. Someone fills that niche' and the problem goes away.

Again, for the last time, whose fault is that?

So you are going to stand here and declare that your long term fanbase can't acquire their own server and run it with pure settings?????????????????

How can the gameplay be ruined for your long term hardcore tactical gaming fanbase if everyone is subjected to the same pure PR config/rule set on a pure PR server run and administered by your own long term hardcore tactical gaming fanbase?

There are so many contradictions to what you are saying in all of these posts.

You first start off with posting about how popular your mod is by citing certain stats and then you go on to say that you don't want to be popular!!!!

So with that, I'm done debating this subject. What I want to focus on now, is how to help you. You will probably resist any help I offer but I'm going to do it anyway because it's the right thing to do. I think having a healthy and thriving PR community translates into a healthy overall mod community. Something of which I'm a big part of.

So here is my solution for you eggman:

When you create your installer for your next release, include a favorites list of pure PR servers that will be automatically installed into the clients favorites list and advertise it heavily in the installer process. this way, when a new person comes to try out PR, they will be directed to play on a pure PR server. In essence, you are nipping the problem in the bud and at it's root. I would even go so far as to create desktop shortcuts with these trusted servers. I also bet that with a bit of ingenuity, you could manipulate the "play now" function to filter only pure PR servers. It's a win/win solution.

Great idea jaws. It also avoids the effort of a separate mini mod. Would the browser still allow for finding modded servers by manipulating filters?

As far as sincere intention of me and my clan it is this. To have 64 slots of gameplay of this mod with our SSMs where those that wish to can enjoy it too. That's it. Believe me, I'm tired of this. I'm tired of being talked down to. Dragged through the mud. My intentions questioned, my clan defamed and my character attacked. I'm not seeking any attention. You grant me those 64 slots and you'll never hear from me again.
