BF2 1.4 Patch Delayed


Our sources have told us that EA has delayed the BF2 1.4 Patch by at least a week (7 days). There is a slight possibility that it may be released before a week, but the outcome does not look great at this moment. If more information becomes available, we will let you know.

running the beta 1.4 couple weeks now, and have MORE CTD & lag issues....

when i was running it i had no problems :hmm: maybe your computer set up

We understand that this is going to cause a significant amount of aggravation, however it is worth ensuring that the patch actually resolves as many issues as possible. So some additional time is being taken to ensure that this is the case.[INSERT: and we want to shut you babies up]

This last thing we want is a repeat of the 1.3 patch.

Source: EA UK Forums[/INDENT]It has also been reported over at Battlefield2.nl that the patch will only be delayed for 24 hours. Here's what they had to say:

Although the patch was announced to be released today (by EA Spain), it seems a small bug has been found and needs to be fixed before patch release. The release of patch 1.4 has been postponed 24 hours in order to allow more testing and the fix of this small bug.

That's the news for now. If we learn anymore about this delay we will certainly let you guys know. Better a fixed to perfection patch, than a buggy one being released.

Although it would be nice to get the patch this week, i have no problem waiting for another week or month. Road to Jalalabad will be a good add-on, anyway...

So let's get this right EA/dice has had all this time in the beta all the sudden one bug stop's the whole thing! Funny isn't the demo for 2142 coming out soon. Hmmmmmmm i wonder if they just plan things like this ?


But i'm sure there will be penlty of peeps that run for 2142 so the patch now a week at least. Really suck i wanted to play this month

funny thing is it ran fine since I started BF2 in Jan. - since 1.3 patch I been having lots of lag/CTD issues. Got slightly WORSE w/1.4 Beta (I went to that in an attempt to cure the 1.3 issues), and now CTD about once every 2-3 games...

I also get massive lag even though it shows 15mS/25mS connections on some servers....I get 4-5 SEC lag spikes. Totally ruins a bombing run...

...All this whining from people because of a 24h delay. Let Dice/EA do their work and get it released, instead of crying like little girls about the delay. ....

What a load of cr*p. One year after the release BF2 is still not working. It took several patches to fix the server selection screen bugs. It worked perfectly in BF1942 and then they break it in BF2 - that really takes some serious programming!! :evil:

If EA let Dice do their job instead of pushing an unfinished product out the door things would be far better.
