Battlefield 1.4 Patch Delayed

Well it appears that some last minute bugs have arisen in the latest Battlefield 2 patch and it is going to be delayed. Here's what they had to say:

Due to some last minute changes the release of the 1.4 patch has been delayed.

We do not anticipate this delay being a lengthy one, however we do not have a fixed date for release at this time.

We will update you as soon as there is further information.

Apologies to those who were expecting the patch today, however in order for this patch to succeed in the way it is intended a little extra time is being taken to ensure it is right.

We understand that this is going to cause a significant amount of aggravation, however it is worth ensuring that the patch actually resolves as many issues as possible. So some additional time is being taken to ensure that this is the case.

This last thing we want is a repeat of the 1.3 patch.

It has also been reported over at Battlefield2.nl that the patch will only be delayed for 24 hours. Here's what they had to say:

Although the patch was announced to be released today (by EA Spain), it seems a small bug has been found and needs to be fixed before patch release. The release of patch 1.4 has been postponed 24 hours in order to allow more testing and the fix of this small bug.

That's the news for now. If we learn anymore about this delay we will certainly let you guys know. Better a fixed to perfection patch, than a buggy one being released.

I really want that patch.

EDIT: I'm not upset that it's delayed, I'd rather have a good patch than a buggy one. I'm upset because today was my day off of work, and I was thinking, "Hey, sweet, I can play me some BF2!" Now, of course, I won't be able to try the new patch until NEXT FRIGGIN WEEK because of my schedule. Hence, head slamming.

but i'd much rather have it delayed then more bugs be released to the public

I hate the 'delayed' because when it comes to EA/DICE we're talking weeks/months, but if it's just 24 hours I can just about cope with the CTD's for that long.

It's not a big deal, they've never really given a release date for a patch anyways since you never know what will happen. So, it's 24hrs, big deal, and they found something at the last minute so good for them for not releasing it.

Well this sure as heck better be a bug free patch then. I haven't played BF2 in friggin months since 1.3 BLEW so much as we all know. It will be worth it though, as I've been playing the 1.4 beta patch and it's fantastic. No more CTD for me, and my framerate in Operation Road Rage went way way up. You see, EA, just start Beta testing EVERYTHING from now on and customers will like you more since you hopefully won't be putting out any more bug-filled programs.

If its just 24 hours...I think most anyone can deal with that. I'd rather have everything fixed, than have a patch that is the same as 1.3....

Wow...GG EA. It will still probably have bugs in it. I swear they can't do anything right.

im actually glad they took the time and said oh a few little bugs we will hold it back and fix them in the past it would have been wow everyone gets a CTD from this patch oh well we will fix it with the next one :p

well, as much as i want it NOW! i guess they are actuaally doing the right thing by delaying it to fix some last minute problem. it seems EA/DICE are starting to do things right for a chance! YA!
