when people put it as clearly as that it makes me wonder why so many people just don't get it! All these people saying - I love FH2, it should come out soon because it will lose players to 2142. Its friggin apples and oranges people! Its not like one would make the other boring because they are both COMPLETELY different. Heck - i will probably be playing both (but only 2142 when i need a break from FH2 hahahahahaha - i am really only getting 2142 out of sheer obligation). Just because a sci fi game is coming out doesn't mean people will magically lose their passion for HISTORICALLY ACCURATE type gameplay. If anything - I would think many will break from 2142 when the future "gets old" Which, for the older players, will come sooner rather than later.

i decided on picking up 2142 but I've been fascinated with ww2 since I was a kid. this alone makes fh2 priority over 2142 because it will be more fun for me. There is no way I will pass up playing the supercharged version of bf1942 on the bf2 engine. sounds almost too good to be true.
it can't be a release... though looking at the updates we shouldn't expect more then one desert map and some armored units and air units (haven't seen any infantry yet) ,... IT would be very amazing if there s going to be a lil release
p.s: I remembered Fh1942 was around 2 GB download :P ! that's not a problem for me but how MANY MUST IT BE FOR BF2 ???!!!!!
Dont expect a release. A release have to be tested and balanced and be complete. We haven't seen playermodels, maps, more planes, guns yet. You can expect a release after the FH team spreads a Beta to there Beta-team. And as far as I know this is not the case.
The picture is clear: we see a germans soldier. The title says: Where once was darkness... The soldier is in the darkness. The playermodels have been in the darkness since FH2 was announced. The pciture clearly shows a polygon-based model.
no offence but wth all these cryptic replies from the devs you guys are doing nothing but getting peoples hopes up and are realy going to upset them when they are shown player skins or some other aspect of the mod. im just a realist and i know we will never see this before xmas id almost bet on close to another year, a good 8 months, i mean we've seen no ingame vids, no test servers, nothing that would hint on eminate release yet we are getting cryptic replies from the devs.
it seems that this news was published just to drum up more interest but i realy think its going to have the opposite effect, you are going to loose even more players who are eagerly awaiting this mod when they feel toyed with. thats just the way it looks to me, ill certainly be here for it no mattter when it comes out but players like me are a dying breed.
