The FH2 fanbase is already there and just biding their time. As soon as it's released I and many others will never play BF2 again and I'm sure many will be buying BF2 for the first time just to play FH2.

About all that question of BF2142 stealing players from FH, personally, don´t see the big drama.
Do you remember what happened with BF:V?
Well, someone said "alot of clans will change to BF2142", yes, it´s true, the clans have that "we want what is new" style, that happened with BF42 to BF:V, even clans that were involved with Open Cups and etc stopped and changed to BF:V, ok, all good, but how many stayed there...? That´s the main point.
Because alot of people might change and start playing BF2142 because it´s new, and that´s it, that happened with BF2, alot start playing it because it was new, but alot of them are geting tired of the gameplay and they got to the usual games they played, that happened to FH, alot played BF2 for months, but then they came back, in this case, they chosen what they trully liked.
For me BF2142 is to BF2, what BF:V was to BF42, a game that is coming too soon with a too much arcadey gameplay to make me, a ww2 lover and a person that prefers realistic gameplay, want to play it in a regular basis.
I don´t play FH just because i´m involved with it, i play it because BF2, BF42 and other games don´t give me the same, realistic ww2 gameplay with good maps and good models/skins.
So i see people that play mods like PRMM, the original FH and is tired of BF2 gameplay is going to play FH2, that and all the clans and tournament people that play now FH and simply love it will also play FH2, it just needs to blow the mind out of them to grab even people that prefer other games.
Because, BF2 is a good game model and map wise, it has some nice features and that BF42 gameplay that made alot of people love the game, but for me it´s too much arcade, and since that´s DICE style i doubt i will like BF2142, no matter how good it is model and map wise.
And that´s it, people that prefer arcade game will continue to play BF2 and BF2142, no matter how good FH2 might be, all others, that love ww2 games and like realistic gameplay will prefer FH2.
BF2142 and FH2 are going to be two very different games, so i doubt any of these two will steal players from eachother, players will decide after playing what they like the most, others will stay what they always liked (ww2, modern or futuristic).Comment

Hello and welcome back to another update of Forgotten Hope. Yesterday we posted a preview image and a bit of cryptic nonsense. Today it is time to deliver on that nonsense! Today, finally, you can see the first part of the most often requested object since Forgotten Hope 2 was announced. We had to take a long road to get there, but finally, we are able to present the German player model.
We wanted to create a little extra buzz for today, since for us it is a huge milestone. Completing our first player model has been the most difficult, and at the same time most critical single development hurdle since we started working on Forgotten Hope 2. We were a bit startled at the firestorm of comment that our little preview picture created—-we would never have predicted it, but are happy to find out how many people care so much about what we put in our news.
But rather than more words, we would like to show you the goods. The German player model wears a uniform typical of a Deutsche Afrika Korps infantryman from the 1941-early 1942 period, based on research by Lightning, Taranov and Zero. We have shown him with a selection of kit and weapon items to give you an idea of the variety, but there is more to come in future updates.
The DAK landser was modeled by Zero, who weighted the model, created the normal map and performed the initial skinning as well. The skin was refined by McGibs and the exporting and coding was done by ctz. The lovely renders were created by Rad, and the whole team subjected those already mentioned to incessant kibitzing until we decided it was ready to show the public. We hope you feel it was worth the long wait.
