Thing is that you don't have to play infantry mode if you don't like it. It is brilliant in its simplicity - free of choice. They are working on the bugs aswell, so grab a hankie and dry those tears away. :)Comment

HOLY SH%#!! why dident you say that before? ive f%&#'ed BF2 compleately up now! when i start it it crashes! damn! well.. i'll just reinstall the hole thing, patch to 1.3 and leave it.. enough beta.. i cant play anyway because of lag so i'll stick to 1.3 till the full patch comes..Comment

guyz , it works ! i played fore more than 100 min without crashin', framerates are low,but stable ,so,make it official quick coz my clan just disintegrated all players left,en no,don't expect them buyin 2142. "make copy of bf2 map?!" i do love mods,and my bf2 file is 8 GB lump and i hope that you wount ask fore it again when it becomes 15 ore 30 giggz (more nice mods to come i hope) and how comes that unranked mods never had server crashin problem (ore is it just me?)

Am I the only one that thinks when you remove the vehicles from BF2 all you have left is a bad version of Counterstrike and/or Rainbow Six in somewhat more open maps?
Imho the BF2 engine is just not very well suited for that kind of gameplay.. The playermovement is a bit floaty and disconnected a lot of times, and the netcode/hitdetection is also a bit vague a lot of times.. That's also why I hate a map like Iron-Gator in Special Forces.. It just plays crap compared to proper infantry team-based shooters like Counterstrike etc, which have a much better engine for that kind of gameplay..
Imho BF2 should stick to what is does best, vehicles.. You want infantry-only games? Go check out CS or RS etc, much better games in that.. I post this because I read that they added ranked infantry-only servers now in the beta, and I wonder where it's gonna end.. I'd much rather see inflantry-only as a non-official non-ranked serveroption..

why? why do u care if its ranked or not?
However I go understand what u mean about bf2 being about vehicles and your right, but I do love the inf warfare aswell. And sometimes I feel like playing sniper , medic or support but then nobody else is man enough to take out the tanks so I end up having to be engineer or spec ops
so its times like these that I'll hop on and inf only server, so I can play as a different class for a change.
